It can be used for priming on plastered surfaces and other
masonry works. It makes the surface less absorbent. Polar Cement
Primer is a water-based primer, and it consists of
copolymer, imported pigments and extenders, so as to ensure

Application Procedure
Polymer Putty is available in paste form and hence it is ready to use putty.
Step 1: Ensure that the surface is completely free from dirt, loosely held plaster, powdery residue, oil, grease,
algae or any other unwanted substances / particles. It is important that the surface should be cleaned thoroughly
and be dry before starting the application procedure.
Step 2: Apply first coat of Polymer Putty using a putty knife.
Step 3: Sand the surface with sandpaper 180 and wipe clean. Sanding must be done within 3 to 4 hours for
comfortable sanding. Composition of imported polymers make this putty very hard and sanding becomes difficult
if done after 6 hours.
Step 4: Apply second coat of Polymer Putty using putty knife.
Step 5: Sand the surface with sandpaper 220 and wipe clean. Sanding shall be done within 3 to 4 hours of
application.
Application of primer can be eliminated after the usage of Polymer Putty. In case of elimination of priming coat,
one must make sure that the final putty surface has been cleaned properly using a cloth and there is no powdery
residue before application of the top coat..

General Surface Preparation Guide

New Surfaces: New masonry surfaces must be allowed to cure completely for best results. It is recommended to
allow 28 days as curing time for new masonry surfaces.
Cleaning: Ensure that the surface is completely free from dirt, loosely held plaster, powdery residue, oil, grease or
any other contamination. It is important that the surface should be cleaned thoroughly and be dry before starting
the application procedure.
Filling For Cracks: For or filling cracks up to 3mm use Polymer Putty. In case of dents and holes use Tulsi Paints
Wall Putty or white cement and fine sand in the ratio 1:3. Sand the surface with brown paper and wipe clean.
Old Surfaces (Re-Painting): Old surfaces need additional care. Any old paint that is loose or is peeling away must
be completely removed. Hand wire brushing, scraping, and sanding are a few manual methods for removing such
paint deposits. Any type of fungal growth residue on old surface will result in peeling off of the freshly painted
coat. Application of a priming coat is mandatory before repainting. Water proofing treatment is must for damp
surfaces.

Precautions
- Do not apply when ambient temperature is less than 10°C or if the temperature might drop to this level within
4 hrs of application. Do not apply when the climate is rainy.
- Warranty is void if it rains within 6 hours of application of any primer or paint.
- Do not over-thin or over-extend the brush.
- Do not use Universal Stainer's or any other colorants in primers.
- Stir well and strain before use.
- In coastal areas, it is not recommended to leave the primer without the application of topcoats.
- Tint paint products using Tulsi Paints colorants only.
- Tinted paints need thorough shaking immediately after tinter addition as well as before use.
- Paint will not cover existing cracks, proper care to be taken to ensure the cracks are filled first.
- Primer coat or only one coat of topcoat should not be kept exposed in monsoon. Complete application before
monsoon to be ensured.
- Specially in pre-monsoon season, horizontal surface to be coated first and then vertical. This will help reduce the
streak marks of algal growth if any. For best performance ensure that the surface is dry.
- Ensure not to use Chlorinated water for dilution.
