THEME:HINDRANCES TO ANSWERED PRAYERS

In life, nothing changes until an external force is applied. Prayer is that external force that changes
situation. Prayer is asking God to intervene in any situation on the basis of His Word and your
relationship with Him. In prayer, you are giving God the legal right and permission to interfere in
earthly affairs. It is man giving heaven earthly license to influence the earth - Matthew 18:18
(KJV) -Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in
heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Prayer is not
what we do when tragedy strikes, but what we do to avert evil. A praying Christian is a winning
and victorious Christian. A Christian who lacks the lifestyle of prayer will remain helpless and
powerless. The greatest battles of life are fought on a daily basis and won in the room of prayers
- 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV) Pray without ceasing. The more you pray, the more intimate
you walk with God and the stronger you become. If you do not wish to be a prey to the devil and
his agents, develop a ceaseless prayer lifestyle.
Hindrances to Answered Prayers:
1. Sin – Isaiah 59:1-2 (KJV) 1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot
save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated
between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not
hear; Psalm 66:18 (KJV) If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear [me].
This is a barrier to answered prayer, if sin is a hindrance, then a sinner’s prayer will not be
answered.
2. Lack of Love - Matthew 22:37-39 (KJV) 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the
Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind 38 This is
the first and great commandment 39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love
thy neighbour as thyself. When you are in love with God, He answer your prayers. When you
win the love of God you will cease from shedding tears. Your heart for God’s kingdom will determine
how far your prayers are answered by Him.
3. Ignorance of God’s Word - 1 John 5:14 (KJV) And this is the confidence that we have
in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. Prayer without the
Word of God is a mere protest. A wordless Christian is a worthless Christian. Locate the Word of
God concerning that challenge.
4. Unbelief - Mark 11:24 (KJV) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire,
when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them]. Unbelief occurs
when a man knows that there is a God, but does not believe the potency of God’s power.
5. Unforgiveness - Mark 11:25-26 (KJV) 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye
have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven
forgive your trespasses. Unforgiveness is one factor that serves as a roadblock to answers in
prayer. A man who walks in hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness and malice will experience spiritual
dryness. Develop a lifestyle of forgiveness, and as you forgive also, let it be eroded from your
heart. Doing this makes you exemplify the nature of Christ. [Altar Call]

John 6:54-56 (KJV)
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will
raise him up at the last day
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in
him.
As I partake of the Flesh and Blood of Jesus Christ, I partake of eternal life and
everything that comes with salvation. I am immune to sickness, disease, plague and
death. I receive divine health, supernatural strength, long-useful life in the name of
Jesus Christ!
