Perspective from the Philippines about Global South Issues

As the world changes and develops, there have been many new inventions and
technological advances. This is a good thing for the countries involved because it
means they are developing and growing. Some countries are really good at minimizing
and responding to natural disasters, but other countries that don't belong to those sets
of countries find it challenging. Some countries are located in the southern half of the
Earth, specifically in Asia. The Philippines is a wealthy country with lots of natural
resources and people, but it is still poor because of some problems.
Charmaine J. Challenges Facing the Southern Hemisphere: Reading Misalucha's
study from a Filipino perspective, I learned what I understood from that study and
related it to my own life as a Filipino citizen. Daily. There really are things which I
significantly learned, and these are the differences between countries from colonialism
and imperialism to the modern era, how the colonization of different countries influences
the development of the Philippines as a developing country, and how different the
countries in the global south are from each other and to the opposite divide. These
themes were apparent to me, and I understood more about them since I had already
grasped certain components of the subject from former lectures. They are equally
existent in our country.
However, there are also significant spots in the essay where I could not build a
notion, and these portions were questionable and puzzling. These are the non-Western
and Western processes and their methods, how the worldwide south is expected to
mirror its counterparts in the north and replicate its ways, and how global north nations
like the US safeguard international south countries like the Philippines for special
causes. These points were highly intriguing as although it leads to a solution, the
answer also clues why it happened.
There were additional components that I employed to think about the problem.
These involve the effects of colonization from different countries in the past, an
excellent feature for this occurrence, the unique beliefs, and regulations a government
retains retransfer countries, which are also growing, and that despite the globe having
been divided and is under the condition of liberty, supremacy and imperialism are still
alive and may be the reason as to exist splits because there among all groups on the
planet.
Upon further reading the study conducted, I have also taken questions
surrounding the topic that will help me comprehend the subject even better, and they
are the following: Why are global south nations like the Philippines expected to
resemble first-world countries that belong to the global north? How are the contrasts
between each division significant to each other? And why is there a need to partition the
universe into groups based on a given category?
In conclusion, Although the Philippines is a prosperous country in terms of
natural and human resources, it remains poor due to several obstacles. Sharmaine J. I

learned a lot from reading Misalucha's study on "Challenges for the Southern
Hemisphere: A Philippine Perspective." The Southern Hemisphere reflects and
reproduces how North Korea responds and how Northern Hemisphere countries such
as the United States must specifically protect Southern Hemisphere countries such as
the Philippines. These points lead to a solution, but it was remarkably interesting
because the answer gives an idea of why it happened. Even though the world is divided
and in a state of freedom, domination, and imperialism still exist, and for a reason.
