Write-up for the field trip to RESQ Charitable trust -Lower Secondary Section

On 27 September 2022, BVRTSE-Lower Secondary Section had the pleasure to visit RESQ Charitable
Trust. RESQ Charitable Trust is a non-profit organisation that works towards the rescue and
rehabilitation of injured and sick animals. This enlightening field trip taught our learners something
they never knew or imagined.

On reaching the campus, they were first taken on a tour around and shown animals that were being
treated and rehabilitated. They glanced at all the animals while listening to stories about how these
animals ended up at RESQ. Moreover, the educator explained to the learners all about their
organisation, from the process of rescuing the animal to the day they leave the animal after they are
all healed and ready to live on their own.

After that, they witnessed a presentation about RESQ and its team and how RESQ can help us find
our ‘Ikigai’ (reason for being). The learners first watched a video on the noble work RESQ does on a
day-to-day basis to save the lives of all those innocent wild and domestic animals which get injured
and sick by human-animal conflicts, animal trafficking, injuries, getting electrocuted on electrical
cables, and much more. Then the educator there shared how she found her Ikigai by joining RESQ
and what one could do to find the best career in this noble field.

This field trip taught our learners does and don’ts while interacting with animals and how humans
can co-exist with them. This was indeed a very illuminating experience for our learners and teachers.
