Vacancy announcement for "Regional Coordinator" position
Context:
Within the framework of occupying the position of the Regional Coordinator of the Climate Action Network in
the Arab World, which is under the umbrella of international Climate Action Network (CAN), and it is called
CANAW, and includes more than 148 non-governmental organizations from all over the Arab region that are
active in addressing climate change, The Network announces that the door to apply for the position is open in
front of all members of the network, and from outside the network, according to the below conditions and
Requirement :
Please note that a the salary devoted this position for one year.) 12
Months (will be covered through the Regional Climate and Energy (C&E)
Project MENA at Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, and will be paid on monthly contract
basis.
Tasks required by the regional coordinator he / she has to(her or him):
- Consult with CANAW Board and members to structure a draft program for meetings
and share it with FES and CAN International (CAN-I).
- Start the nomination process for meetings in coordination with the CANAW Board,
and establish a participants list (board meetings, general assembly, trainings and
conferences like COP).
- Coordinate and liaise with FES offices in the region for any organizational or logistical
issues needed for the meetings.
- Secure venue and any needed governmental permits for the meeting when needed
- Arrange participants’ flight bookings, transportation and accommodation through
FES- working partners.
- Support the participants with visa applications in coordination with FES offices in the
region.
- Preparation of any needed materials for the trainings, conferences or events in
coordination with the board, members and FES.
- Facilitate the monthly meetings for the board members and with FES.
- Handle meeting minutes and communicate it to CANAW members, FES and CAN-I.
Coordinate and prepare the network's activities and events under the supervision of the Board and C&E
Project
Manage administration and financial matters of the partnership between CAN-AW and Friedrich Ebert
StiftungFES
Maintain the network's database as well as communication and email lists up to date along with ensuring
strong and inclusive membership engagement
Prepare and Organize with the Guidance of the Board of the Annual General Assembly of the Network;
Ensure coordination between the board and the network members
Carry out logistical tasks with partners and node members for all the activities implemented by the node;
Handle all travel arrangements of the node such as booking flights, hotels, transportation and liaising with
travel agencies and taking care of per-diems.
Work on developing the network and to liaise with CAN International;
Develop documents and working papers of the network with the guidance of the board;
Propose a yearly plan of actions, according to the orientation given by the board; and propose budget for
this Plan of Actions;
Make sure that proper follow up is made by the Chair of the Board, on all issues related to partnership and
fundraising;
investigating Resources Mobilization potential on regional and international level
Carry out translation work required by the administrative body, whether during meetings, or those related
to reports and documents
- Ensure effective networking, communication and information sharing among CANAW
partners within the region in close coordination with CAN-I regional communication
manager.
- Prepare and develop content for CANAW Facebook page and website in close
coordination with CAN-I regional communication manager.
- Update CANAW website and Facebook page with news and information from
members in close coordination with CAN-I regional communication manager.
- Manage CANAW membership database including updating, adding and receiving new
applications.
