by market capitalisation. Key highlights:

South Central Africa’s companies are the smallest in SSA ex SA with the largest company ranking
number 32 of the Top 30 companies in SSA ex SA. Company US$ graphs on pages 10-14.
Big Cap stocks in South Central Africa are far less profitable compared to West Africa and East
Africa whose companies have ROE’s of 54% and 34% respectively.
Dramatic price rises of some Zimbabwean stocks in the past year (page 5).
Of the Top 30 stocks, Botswana has 10, Zimbabwe 7, Malawi 7, Namibia 4 and Zambia 2.
Banks account for 12 stocks, food & beverage 6, telecoms 4, real estate 2 and others six.
