The successful outcome of prosthetic treatment in particular with
removable dentures depends ona large extent on whether the patient is
able to adapt and later to habituate wearing the dentures.
First, the patient must become accustomed to the Sensation of the

Definition
Acopy denture preserves the polished Surface of the existing prosthesis
while allowing modifications to be carried out to the fitting and occlusal
surfaces of a complete dentures
The title, ‘Copy Denture Technique’, is really a misnomer because it is only
rarely that an exact copy of an existing denture will be required.
For the majority of patients improvements in the occlusal relationship and base
extension of existing dentures will be indicated, while reproducing the form of
the polished surfaces, the tooth positions and the arch form.
For some patients quite radical changes in design will be necessary. In such
cases the copy denture technique can be used to allow planned alterations to
