QUARTER 3
MODULE 14- LESSON 14
Select Event Venue and Site

OBJECTIVES:

1. Identify event lay outs

2. Define event venue and site
3. Illustrate event lay out and site

DISCUSSION

What is Venue or Site?

the place where something happens, especially an organized event such as a concert, conference,
or sports event.

Illustration of event lay out and site

A. CONFERENCE STYLE conference room layout is the set up of chairs and tables in a
conference space. The most effective conference room layout depends on the size and style of
the meeting.

B. HOLLOW SQUARE Suitable for smaller groups (up to 30 attendees) where there’s a
speaker in the center or at one end of the square. Popular for small meetings, training sessions
and workshops

C. SEMI CIRCLE his is a modification of a round-table format, where students and teachers share
one large table area (or desk area) for discussion.

D. CIRCLE OF CHAIRS circular Arrangement is a type of Sitting Arrangement, where objects

are placed around a circle either facing the center or facing the direction opposite to center.

E. U-SHAPED The practical U-shape configuration promotes interaction and allows for a focal
point or presentation area. Suitable for smaller groups (up to 30 attendees) where there’s a
speaker in the center or at the open end of the ‘U’. The inefficient use of floor space means
seating capacity is reduced. Popular for conferences, meetings, training sessions and workshops

F. THEATER STYLE Perfect for audience-type events, this configuration doesn’t lend itself to
note-taking or food consumption. Popular for lectures, performances and product launches

G. BANQUET A classic seating style that encourages your guests to interact with one another.
Seat important guests (VIPs, the wedded couple) in the middle of the room so they’ll be at the
heart of the action, and choose center pieces carefully as these can block the flow of conversation
at the table.

H. CLASSROOM STYLE Ideal for lectures, seminars and meetings where note-taking or the use
of a laptop is required. Attendees don’t face one another so interaction between them is
somewhat hindered popular for lectures, meetings, seminars and training sessions
