2020 2021 Safety Inspection and cockpit Check-
List to be performed before powering the Aircraft for maintenance
purposes. Base on the list on the above illustration, the inspection
starts with the nose station.
 First, we verify the NLG (Nose Landing Gear) chocks are in place. Then
observe the Nose landing gear doors are closed. We make sure that the
NLG safety pin is installed. We always work with the NLG steering pin
required. The next and last part on this station, check that the aircraft is
electrically grounded.

 5th step would be checking the left MLG station for the RAM AIR
TURBINE (rat) safety device must be in stowed position. Of course,
make sure that all MLG doors are closed and all access doors on the
engines on both sides.
 6th step would be checking the external power receptacle, check it if
there is power connected or available for connection.
 7th the final step would be checking the cockpit, go inside of it then
check the emergency equipment. Verify escape ropes are present,
observe fire extinguishers, ensure crash axe is in position, check the
whole cockpit if equipped with life vest, verify the oxygen masks if
present, check for the flashlights are in position.
Along with this you as a mechanic should inspect that:
1. BATery 1 and 2 P/BSW (push button switch) must be off, and their
voltage should be about 25 volts.
2. Set BAT 1 P/BSW (push button switch) to AUTO, then set the
BAT 2 P/BSW (push button switch) TO AUTO.
3. Verify the Speed Brake Handle is in the retract disarm position.
4. Make sure that the Thrust levers on the center pedestal are in
idle position.
5. Engine Master Switches for 1 and 2 must be in OFF position. And
the engine mode selector is on NORMal position.
6. That your RADAR is off, and also the ATC transponder is OFF.
