Starting point formulation for melamine-polyester gloss white coil coatings


Improved appearance with CAB 551-0.01

Adding Eastman CAB 551-0.01 to the following gloss white melamine-polyester coil coating can help eliminate defects such as orange
peel, which creates a negative visual impression and can also affect the coating’s durability.

Procedure
1. Preblend parts A to B in the order shown.
2. Preblend parts C to F in the order shown and add to parts A/B.
3. Add part G and high-speed disperse to a Hegman value of <5 µm.
4. Slowly add parts H to J in the order shown to the pigment grind.
