City

The study will address the imperative need of Baguio City for a Cardiopulmonary Hospital to
tend to its constituents that have health concerns regarding this matter. The study will benefit the
city of Baguio by being a new medical hub in the Philippines with its new Cardiopulmonary
facility. Aside from being a place for tourism and education, with the study’s proposed hospital,
it can now also serve the health sector and provide its constituents with medical services that are
often sought after outside the city. In addition to that, this will open up more opportunities for
economic growth and expand the services the city can offer.
Environment
The study aims to promote the protection of the environment and fusion of built structures with
nature. In this study, biophilic methods and strategies will be used to reduce the harmful impact
that a hospital may bring into its environment. The study also encourages the use of natural
elements in creating a serene, healthy setting within the facility to induce a holistic healing and
recovery of its patients.
Researchers
This study will not only fulfill the requirement for the subject, but also enhance our capabilities
in producing viable, sustainable solutions to architectural problems that we will encounter in our
future scholastic and professional endeavors. The study gives us an opportunity to think further
and combine varied concepts in order to come up with an Eco-brutalist Cardiopulmonary
Hospital for the city of Baguio, which will benefit many of its people.
