STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I strongly believe our life is an outcome of the decisions we make. Some decisions I’ve made still
make me cringe in the middle of the night and some turned out to be the best. Though in personal life
the decisions we make our incalculable that is not the case with profession. After gaining awareness
of how businesses grew by leveraging data and being able to make predictions leading to making
informed decisions that lead to their success. This awareness led me to watch the movies The Big
Short and Margin Call which had a huge impact on me. The movie showed how the protagonists were
able to predict the impending financial crisis using data analysis and were able to make the best out of
the worst Financial crisis the world had ever seen. This made me realize how invaluable data is to all
sectors be it finance, Healthcare, Agriculture, Retail etc. Consequentially, I decided to do a Post
Graduate Diploma in Management. This course unravelled how marketing and business analytics
were entwined and interdependent. I realized how having data insights and good marketing strategies
are imperative in making right decisions that could further strengthen the business which motivated
me to pursue my degree in Management. Furthermore, to build the skill gap that I faced and to gain a
worldwide exposure. I am now looking forward to securing a Master's in Business Analytics.
Erstwhile, I had completed my UG in BSc Computers. where I scored a 67%. I faced a lot of
issues, personally and financially. This Period of my life taught me a lot and made me grow a
lot as person
 
  
During my diploma, I studied various subjects like Machine Learning, Management Information
Systems, Project management and Business Analytics for Decision making, that will become the
foundation for my master’s degree. My PGDM was with triple specialization in marketing, Retail
marketing, and Business Analytics supplemented the essential management skills like Data analysis,
problem-solving, strategic planning and project management in the final year of the PGDM course, I
interned in a marketing and Business Strategy firm called Adithya Birla.  Working as a Market
Research Analyst intern, one of the projects was with a client: Zero Gravity, an adventure travel
company.  I collected key data such as, key trends, SWOT analysis, and business and marketing
strategies used by competitors.  I also consolidated the information into useful reports that were
fundamental in making marketing decisions. This being a travel company was impacted by Covid,
hence, I determined effective strategies to bring back the business. For this, I advised surveys and the
activities that most allured the niche travellers. For my efforts and seamless contribution, I received a
certificate of appreciation primarily for my proactiveness and my performance. This internship lasted
only four months but the experience I gained was exponential as it paved way for my role as a
Business Analyst in the IT field. 
 

I got the opportunity to work for Itouch Infotronics, with Private Ltd in Pune, for the Client
Vodafone (U.K) where I have work experience of 13 months. During which I was involved in
implementation and execution of various projects like Siebel e-Communication Application, and
Loyalty applications. Now I have knowledge of open UI configuration. Having the experience on
Siebel configuration, workflows and Scripting, configured Joins, pick lists, drill downs, MVG
applets. Having knowledge in EAI integration though Inbound and outbound web services. My
Siebel experience includes configuring and customizing Siebel applications using Siebel tools.
customizing the Siebel application using script as per requirement.
Apart from technical skills I am an excellent in oral and written communication with proven ability to
effectively communicate with technical and non-technical individuals at all levels of management.
Highly adept in working under pressure and around large volumes of consumers

Being well versed in programming languages such as Python, Java and in the platforms Siebel and
Tableau. Further updated my skill to Salesforce. I got an Opportunity from ITC INFOTECH in July
2021 for the client British American Tobacco company (BAT).
Having acquired relative experience with my field of interest, I now feel that an MS degree in
Business Analysis will provide education in the data management and data analysis realm. I will be
able to imbibe statistical languages like R and Python, which will empower me to perform descriptive,
diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. Learning this will enable me to work in any
organization irrespective of its nature. My goal is to be a competent Business analyst who can assist in
solving complex business problems and maximizing profits. My long-term goal is to be a lead or
senior analyst with expertise in analyzing data and making informed choices for the business. 
 
With goals that I have predetermined, I believe that the USA is the technological epicentre of the
world and houses some of the biggest tech companies like Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, etc. I wish to
learn how these companies leverage enormous data and utilize business analytics tools to predict
customer preferences. This will allow me to scale up in my career.  Moreover, the University's
curriculum is expansive and has influenced my decision to be here. The esteemed faculty will also
tread me closer to my eventual goals. 
 
As a Business Administration graduate, I have been inclined towards how the rapidly globalized
world has created immense opportunities for businesses to expand and flourish. The new-age
marketing arena has enticed me and fuelled my curiosity about how business analytics and marketing
can come together to help every enterprise. Completing my MS from your University will not only
fulfil my intentions of attaining knowledge of the core Business Analytics field but will also shape my
personality. I am looking forward to being a part of the intellectual cohort at the University.
