1. Find the equation of the set of the points P such that its distances from the points A (3, 4, –5)
and B (– 2, 1, 4) are equal
2. Three vertices of a parallelogram ABCD are A (3, – 1, 2), B (1, 2, – 4) and C (– 1, 1, 2). Find
the coordinates of the fourth vertex
3. Compute the derivative of sin 2 x w.r.t.x by Leibnitz Product rule
4. Find the derivative of f ( x)  1  x  x 2  x3  ...  x50 at x = 1.
5. Differentiate f(x) = c where c is a constant and show that its derivative is zero
6. Find the derivative of f ( x)  2 x  x7  sin x  9 w.r.t. x by addition theorem

(1,1,2) and (–1, 7, – 6) where G divides each median in the ratio 2:1

Section C (4 questions of 4 Marks each)


11. Find the ratio in which the YZ-plane divides the line segment formed by joining
the points (–2, 4, 7) and (3, –5, 8) . Also find the coordinates of that division point.
12. Using section formula, prove that the three points (– 4, 6, 10), (2, 4, 6) and (14, 0, –2) are
collinear
13. Find the derivative of tanx w.r.t.x using quotient rule
14. In an exam Meena , Nandini and John differentiated the function f(x) = (x+1)(x+2) in

different ways. (i) Meena used differentiation by ab initio rule. Explain it and find

(ii) Nandini expanded f(x) into a polynomial and differentiated term by term . Find
the derivative using this approach (iii) John applied Product rule of differentiation .
