Marv Stern’s AeroTech Electronics is announcing major changes in it’s product line. While the ESW-1
Electronic Switch remains in the line, the IGN-SW Ignition Unit has been discontinued.

Replacing it are two new products. The first is the all new
Mark II Ignition Unit. This is a standalone unit and does not
include the ESW-1. The major feature is the protection
afforded the output transistor and ignition coil in the event the
engine stops prematurely with the points closed. If this
happens, the unit shuts down immediately protecting the unit
from possible overload and the ignition coil from burning up. It
measures approx. 1-1/8 x 1-1/2 inches.

The second item is the Mark III R/C Ignition System. This
integrates the ESW-1 Switch on the same board as the Mark
II Ignition Unit.
Features of the Mark III include not being able to activate the
ignition unless the transmitter and receiver are operating. The
unit will also shut off immediately if the receiver loses signal.
Again if the engine shuts down prematurely with the points
closed, the unit will also shut down. The unit measures
approx. 1-1/8 x 2-1/4 inches enabling it to fit in the smallest of
fuselages .
The Mark III also provides connections for an external or
booster source, allowing the engine to be run without requiring

the transmitter and receiver to be turned on. This is a great
advantage when the transmitter is impounded at the flying
field or at a contest.
All units are encapsulated in a protective plastic shell and can be mounted using Velcro tape.
