SERVICE INFORMATION
 A continuity test can be made with the switches installed on the vehicle.
 All plastic connectors have locking tabs that must be released before disconnecting,
and must be aligned when reconnecting.
 To isolate an electrical failure, check the continuity of the electrical path through the
part. A continuity check can usually be made without removing the pat from the vehicle.
Simply disconnect the connectors and connect a continuity tester to the terminals or
connections.

BULBS REMOVAL
HEADLIGHT

Remove the rubber boot from the headlight


case.
Disconnect the headlight wire connector.

Disconnect the bulb socket.

Relax the lock clips to remove the bulb and
replace with a new one.

Install the bulb, aligning the bulb socket


groove with the bulb tab and set the lock
clips.

HEADLIGHT

Disconnect the bulb socket.


Relax the lock clips to remove the bulb and
replace with a new one

Install the bulb, aligning the bulb socket


groove with the bulb tab and set the lock
clips.

TAIL/BRAKE LIGHT

This ATV’s brake light is LED type.


Remove the brake light wire connector.
Remove the two nuts and four rubber washers.
Remove the brake light assembly.

The installation sequence is the reverse of


removal.

SIGNAL LIGHT (ON ROAD)

FRONT

Disconnect the signal light wire connectors.

Remove the bulb socket by turning it

REAR

This ATV’s signal light is LED type.

Disconnect the signal light wire connectors.


Remove the bolt.
Remove the signal light assembly.

Wire color:Left---P & B


Right---BR &B

INSTALLATION
The installation sequence is the reverse of
removal.

PLATE LIGHT
REMOVAL Connector
This ATV’s plate light is LED type.
Disconnect the plate light wire connector.
Remove the 2 nuts.
Remove the plate light assembly.

Remove the defective plate light replace


with a new one.

INSTALLATION
The installation sequence is the reverse of
removal.

HORN (ON ROAD)

REMOVAL
Disconnect the horn wire leads.
Remove the bolt and remove horn.

INSTALLATION
The installation sequence is the reverse of removal.

IGNITION SWITCH
INSPECTION
Disconnect the ignition switch connectors.

Check for continuity between the switch


side connector terminals in each switch
position.
Continuity should exist between the color
coded wires as right:

REPLACEMENT
Disconnect the ignition switch connectors.
Remove the two nuts.
Remove the ignition switch from the cover.

Install a new ignition switch by aligning the


locating tab with the groove in the cover.

Install the removed parts in the reverse order


of removal.

HANDLEBAR SWITCH Front carrier


INSPECTION
Refer to the chapter 2
Remove front carrier and cover.
Disconnect the connectors.

Check for continuity between the switch


side connector terminals in each switch
position.
Continuity should exist between the color Front cover
coded wires as under:
Start Switch

Dimmer Switch

Override
Warning Switch

Winker Switch

GEAR CHANGE SWITCH


INSPECTION
Disconnect the gear change switch wire
connector.

Check for continuity between the switch


side connector terminal and engine ground.

〝L〞GEAR
There should be continuity with the
transmission in 〝L〞 and no continuity
with it in any gear except 〝L〞. Bolts

〝H〞GEAR Gear change switch


There should be continuity with the
transmission in 〝H〞 and no continuity
with it in any gear except 〝H〞.

〝N〞GEAR
There should be continuity with the
transmission in 〝N〞 and no continuity
with it in any gear except 〝N〞.

〝R〞GEAR
There should be continuity with the Connector Gasket
transmission in 〝R〞 and no continuity
with it in any gear except 〝R〞.

REPLACEMENT
Remove drive and driven pulley. (Refer to
chapter 9)

Remove the two bolts.


Remove the gasket and gear change switch.

Install a new switch with a new O-ring.


* Make sure that the lever on the
O-Ring
Gear change switch correctly engages
with the location slot on the shift shaft.

Measure switch for continuity using a tester.


If any abnormality is found, replace the gear position switch with a new one.
