THE HARE AND THE TORTOISE

There once was a proud Hare. He could run very fast. The Tortoise was

tired of him. So, he challenged the Hare for a race. All the animals in the

forest come to watch. The Hare ran down the road and then stopped. He

looked at Tortoise saying, "You cannot win by walking slowly?" The Hare

then fell asleep. "There is a lot of time to relax," he said. The Tortoise

continued walking until he came to the finish line. The animals cheered

loudly for Tortoise that they woke up the Hare. The Hare was scared. He

began to run again but Tortoise had already crossed the finish line.
