1. Consider five decisions you have made today. (They could be simple things like
reading your modules or even choosing what to buy for a snack). In each case,
determine the data, information, and/or knowledge that were involved in the
decision. Now consider how those decisions would have been influenced by the
lack of pre-existing data, information, or knowledge.

2. Determine the various types of knowledge you used to read this chapter. You
should be able to state at least one of each type.

 Explicit knowledge is information that is organized and aids in enhancing


performance or improved decision-making. It has a diagram, directions, and a
plan.
 Implicit knowledge It is knowledge that can be acquired through skills or by the
practical application of explicit knowledge.
An example of this is the capacity for task prioritization.
 Tacit knowledge. It is a sort of unstructured information that can be learned
through experience or acquired through the completion of tasks over time. The
majority of the time, it is obtained by repetitive work.
 Declarative knowledge is a sort of knowledge that someone consciously
understands. Their individual knowledge of the topic. Here, you can assess
anyone’s performance by responding to the “who,” “what,” “when,” or “where”
questions.
 Procedural knowledge. It is a body of information that explains “how” in
inquiries. Most frequently observed in processes or procedures that are
documented in manuals.
 Posteriori knowledge. It is a form of subjective knowledge that derives mostly
from individual experience and is frequently used in an individual’s ability to
manage or lead the team on their own.
 A Priori Knowledge. It is a knowledge that is frequently transmitted by logical
thinking or the capacity to comprehend the present circumstance. An

“know-how”? How would you classify the knowledge a public administrator has?

The difference of know what and know how is that know what is
knowledge of what to do to a certain thing. Know what is learning by using facts
or opinion. Know what has only one concept. Example of Know what are short
answers and question, true or false and multiple choice. While know how is
knowledge of how to do something. It is a knowledge that is learning by doing
something or by experience. Know how consists many methods and concepts.
