Design to reduce dependence on the automobile.
• A major goal of urban design, especially in centers, is to reduce
automobile dependence to address viability and sustainability issues.
• Walkability is the key to an urban area’s efficient ground
transportation. Walking remains the cheapest form of transport for all
people.
• Thus, the construction of a walkable city provides the most
affordable and equitable transportation system, which any
community can plan, design, build and maintain.
• They lead to addressing many social and economic problems through
social interaction, physical fitness, diminishing crime, and increasing
wellness.
• Walkable cities are livable built environments that lead to happy and
healthy lives for the people in them.
Design with Nature & Culture
• Our gardens are an extension of our homes and lives.
• Fully expressed, they can be a place of self-expression, a place to enjoy with
friends & family, a world to inhabit for children, a place to grow food and
connect to nature, and/or a sanctuary that feeds our spirit.
• There is so much beauty, elegance, and grace in the patterns of nature – so
much inspiration for a good design that works with nature and that creates
well-being with the least effort.
• There is simplicity and beauty in designing with nature.
• Incorporating nature into our designs allows for conserving the natural
habitat and enhancing the area.
• In the site plan preservation of contours has been kept in mind as
changing them will hinder the natural feature.
