Breakfast
• Nowadays, however, a typical English
breakfast is more likely to be a bowl
of cereal, a slice of toast, orange
juice, and a cup of coffee.
• Many people, especially children, in
England eat a bowl of cereal. They
are made with different grains such
as corn, wheat, oats etc.
• In the winter many people eat
"porridge" or boiled oats.

Breakfast
• Another popular breakfast is Tea and Toast - simple and comforting,
Tea and Toast is a centuries-long English tradition. This classic
combination is a great choice when you need a fast and tasty
breakfast.
• Traditionally, the English eat their toast with butter and cheese. The
toast pairs alongside with black tea. However, other teas, such as
green and herbal teas are becoming more popular. This dish is the
simplest to make at home and can be ready in minutes.

Elevenses
• Elevenses or morning tea, no matter what it is called, is
a short break taken at around 11:00 a.m. Usually
consists of a cup of tea, sometimes coffee, and a light
snack (biscuits, cookies or different fruits)

Lunch
• For many families, a Sunday lunch of roast beef with Yorkshire pudding,
pot roast pork with apples, or roast lamb with green beans and mint
sauce, is still a cherished tradition. If you don't fancy cooking it at
home, your local pub is the place to go for traditional English food.
Actually, Sunday lunch is more than just food, it's a family occasion.
• During the week, lunch most often consists of that English food classic:
the sandwich, eaten with a bag of crisps on the side.

Afternoon tea
• Afternoon tea is a British food tradition of sitting down for an
afternoon treat of tea, sandwiches, scones, and cakes. Afternoon tea
is served around 4 p.m. When afternoon tea became fashionable in
the early 19th century thanks to Anna, the Duchess of Bedford, it
was never intended to replace dinner but rather to fill in the long
gap between lunch and dinner at a time when dinner was served as
late as 8 p.m. Lifestyles have changed since those times and
afternoon tea is now a treat, rather than a stop-gap.
