TATA MOTORS

Tata Motors was founded in 1945, as a locomotive manufacturer. Tata Group entered the


commercial vehicle sector in 1954 after forming a joint venture with Daimler-Benz of Germany.
After years of dominating the commercial vehicle market in India, Tata Motors entered the
passenger vehicle market in 1991 by launching the Tata Sierra, a sport utility vehicle based on
the Tata Mobileplatform. Tata subsequently launched the Tata Estate (1992; a station
wagon design based on the earlier Tata Mobile), the Tata Sumo (1994, a 5-door SUV) and
the Tata Safari (1998).
RELIANCE INDUSTRIES
The company was co-founded by Dhirubhai Ambani and Champaklal Damani in 1960's as
Reliance Commercial Corporation. In 1965, the partnership ended and Dhirubhai continued
the polyester business of the firm. In 1966, Reliance Textile Industries Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated
in Maharashtra. It established a synthetic fabrics mill in the same year at Naroda in Gujarat On 8
May 1973, it became Reliance Industries Limited. In 1975, the company expanded its business
into textiles, with "Vimal" becoming its major brand in later years. The company held its Initial
public offering (IPO) in 1977. The issue was over-subscribed by seven times In 1979, a textiles
company Sidhpur Mills was amalgamated with the company In 1980, the company expanded its
polyester yarn business by setting up a Polyester Filament Yarn Plant in Patalganga, Raigad,
Maharashtra with financial and technical collaboration with E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., U.S.

ADANI ENTERPRISES
Adani Group is an Indian multinationalconglomerate, headquartered in Ahmedabad. It was
founded by Gautam Adani in 1988 as a commodity trading business, with the flagship
company Adani Enterprises. The Group's diverse businesses include port management, electric
power generation and transmission, renewable energy, mining, airport operations, natural
gas, food processing and infrastructure Adani Group has over 100,000 total employees directly
and indirectly in the world. Adani Exports Limited commenced as a commodity trading firm in
1988 and diversified into the import and export of multi-basket commodities. With a capital of
₹5 lakhs, the company was established as a partnership firm with the flagship company, Adani
Enterprises, previously Adani Exports In 1990 the Adani Group developed its own port
in Mundra to provide a base for its trading operations. It began construction at Mundra in 1995.
In 1998, it became the top net foreign exchange earner for India Inc The company began coal
trading in 1999 followed by a joint venture in edible oil refining in 2000 with the formation of
Adani Wilmar.

MAHINDRA AND MAHINDRA

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) is an Indian multinational automotive manufacturing


corporation headquartered in Mumbai. It was established in 1945 as Mahindra & Mohammed
and later renamed as Mahindra & Mahindra. Part of the Mahindra Group, M&M is one of the
largest vehicle manufacturers by production in India. Its subsidiary Mahindra Tractor Companyis
the largest manufacturer of tractors in the world by volume. It was ranked 17th on a list of top
companies in India by Fortune India 500in 2018. Its major competitors in the Indian market
include Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors Recently Mahindra tractor company has launched TREM
IV pollution norms tractors, which have common rail direct injection technology. 

INDIAN OIL

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL; d/b/aIndianOil) is a central public sector


undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of
India. It is headquartered in New Delhi. It is a public sector undertakingwhose operations are
overseen by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Indian Oil is ranked 142nd on
the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's biggest corporations as of 2022It is the
largest government owned oil producer in the country, with a net profit of $6.1 billion for the
financial year 2020-21 As of 31 March 2021, Indian Oil's employee strength is 31,648, out of
which 17,762 are executives and 13,876 non-executives, while 2,776 are women, comprising
8.77% of the total workforce. Indian Oil's business interests overlap the entire hydrocarbon value
chain, including refining, pipeline transportation, marketing of petroleum
products, exploration and production of crude oil, natural gas and petrochemicals Indian Oil has
ventured into alternative energy and globalisation of downstream operations. It has subsidiaries
in Sri Lanka (Lanka IOC Mauritius (IndianOil (Mauritius) Ltd and the Middle East (IOC Middle East
FZE).

ITC LTD

ITC Limited is an Indian conglomerate company headquartered in Kolkata. ITC has a diversified


presence across industries such as FMCG, hotels, software, packaging, paperboards, specialty
papers and agribusiness The company has 13 businesses in 5 segments. It exports its products
in 90 countries. Its products are available in 6 million retail outlets. As of 2019–20, ITC had an
annual turnover of US$10.74 billion and a market capitalisation of US$35 billion. In December

RAJESH EXPORTS

Rajesh Exports Limited is an Indian multinational gold retailer headquartered


in Bangalore, Karnataka. The company refines, designs, and sells gold and jewelry. It was
ranked 7th on the Fortune India 500 list in 2022, with revenues of ₹2.90 trillion, and
462nd in the Fortune Global 500. The present managing director is Prashant Mehta and
the executive chairman is Rajesh Mehta The company was founded in 1989 as Rajesh
Exports Limited by Rajesh Mehta and his brother Prashant Mehta both born in a middle
class Jain family. The brothers started manufacturing in a ten-person shop located in
their garage in Bangalore.
By 1990, the company opened a retail front and rapidly expanded.
In 2001, the company built a large manufacturing facility in Bangalore.
In 2011, the company raised $134.9 million by converting the Foreign currency convertible
bonds they had issued in 2007.
In 2015, the company acquired the largest gold refiner in the
world, Valcambi of Balerna, Switzerland, for $400 million. Now they are planning to
expand their Shubh Jewellers retail store.

AMBUJA CEMENT
Ambuja Cements Limited, formerly known as Gujarat Ambuja Cement Limited, is a
major Indian cement producing company. The Group markets cement and clinker for
both domestic and export markets

SIEMENS LTD

Siemens & Halske was founded by Werner von Siemens and Johann Georg Halske on 1


October 1847. Based on the telegraph, their invention used a needle to point to the
sequence of letters, instead of using Morse code. The company, then called Telegraphen-
Bauanstalt von Siemens & Halske, opened its first workshop on 12 October.
In 1848, the company built the first long-distance telegraph line in Europe; 500 km from
Berlin to Frankfurt am Main. In 1850, the founder's younger brother, Carl Wilhelm
Siemens, later Sir William Siemens, started to represent the company in London.
The London agency became a branch office in 1858. In the 1850s, the company was
involved in building long-distance telegraph networks in Russia. In 1855, a company
branch headed by another brother, Carl Heinrich von Siemens, opened in St Petersburg,
Russia. In 1867, Siemens completed the monumental Indo-European telegraph line
stretching over 11,000 km from London to Calcutta.[14]
