MGA MEETING MINUTES FOR JANUARY 3RD

,
2023

Attending:  Al, Ryan, Ron H., Ron M., Jack, Bill

Missing:  Hal

 Introduction of Bill Egge….Bill is replacing Bob Harwick as a Board

member for 2023. Welcome to the Board, Bill !!

 Review of the Alliance Tournament…

-         Good event, but not the best time of year for course
condition.

-         Questioned was the decision to play Summer Rules…

several felt the Jones course was not ready for that.

-         Next year the date will be moved to November and play will
be on the Jones Course.

 Review of the End of Year Banquet…

-         It was an excellent event as stated by numerous attendees

and past Board members.

-         The menu choice (chicken cordon bleu) was met with high
praise.

-         Having the service be sit-down, plated will be our

standard.

-         Jack’s video of the “Year in Review” was THE HIGHLIGHT.

 MGA 2023 Schedule…

-         Most discussion was based around the end of the year
scheduling, The Alliance and the 3-man scramble. The change
we are hoping to make is The Alliance will be a Saturday in
November (date to be determined…Ron M. to coordinate that
with the Pros).  The 3-Man Scramble will be on Saturday
December 2nd.

-         The other discussion item was the MGA Cup points. The
Alliance will be worth 450 points (Board…please confirm
that). It was also decided that participants in the Summer
Series events will get 50 “participation points”. No
“performance points” will be awarded for Summer Series
events. It was also determined that zero points will be
awarded for participation or performance in WCC sponsored
events (Member-Guest or Club championship).

 Miscellaneous Items…

-         Current 2023 membership is right around 45…and

growing.

-         The concept of NO DUES was brought up…after a brief

discussion, we are tabling that concept.

-         Club credits were an issue this year. To have winners of

events so close to the end of the year required to spend their
credits in only weeks is not the best scenario for the MGA.
This will be discussed with management as this was new this
year. Will it be an “every year” requirement ???

-         Club within a Club promotions and Club communications

will be reviewed jointly by Jack G. and Ron H.. A program will
be developed over the next month or so. The task is to
coordinate communications and opportunities between WCC
management, the “Sub-groups” (there are 22 of them) and the
MGA. The goal will be to broadcast/market the golfing
opportunities to all golfing members. As well as expose the
Woodside CC experience to new and potential
members.  (NOTE…There is a lot here, Jack & Ron H. will
better refine this as we move forward.)
-         TopGolf….Our TopGolf outing will be on Thursday Feb. 9 th,
6 to 8 pm. Ron H. is coordinating with TopGolf management
and will have an email to go out to the membership shortly.

Respectfully submitted,

Ron Hobbs, MGA Sec.

NOTE…if anything was missed or if there are any corrections to the

above, please let me know.
