INTEPRETING A CHART
—–

The first chart below shows data about the number of Covid 19 cases by country and the second
graph is the proportion of unemployment in the world in 2020. Summarise the Information by
selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. You should write
about 150 words.

Your writing:
The two graphs depict country-by-country Covid cases and the percentage of the unemployed
around the world respectively.
The first graph simply records the number of confirmed Covid cases in 8 nations around the world.
It is evident that the United State, India and Brazil have the highest number of Covid patients in the
world by a wide margin. In contrast, France has the lowest number compared to the other 7
countries, with 876,342 cases.
The second graph throws a light on the situation of unemployment, before and during when the
pandemic reached its peak. The country hit hardest by Covid is Columbia, the country’s 10% of
unemployed citizens as of March 2020 has skyrocketed to more than double what it once was. Other
jarring changes in joblessness occurred in the United Stated and Canada, both countries’
unemployment percentage increased more than 8%. Conversely, Germany has managed to keep its
percentage just under 5% both before and during the pandemic, experiencing only a 0.4% increase.
All things considered, the two charts give us a fuller concept of how the number of Covid cases and
unemployment rates correlate.
