The actions that will be taken in this incident is that we will have to cover the
insurance costs of this accident. It has been determined that Maria Andretti is
guilty of speeding. Her speed prior to crashing into the truck was 24.84 km/h,
going a little over the supposed speed limit of 20 km/h. DUI tests were
conducted on the victim, however, her tests proved her to be sober. This means
that a DUI lawsuit is not going to be applied to the case. We then took into
consideration the physician’s notes, regarding the laceration marks on Ms.
Andretti’s body. It was stated that the sizing of the marks meant she was driving
more than 20gs but less than 25gs. With this information, our team began to
investigate a potential speeding case, using equations to figure out how fast the
driver was going. Assuming she had driven 20gs, the lowest speed at which she
was going over the speed limit, we calculated the acceleration of the
incident(The equations used to find the values that will be listed from now on
will be found in the appendix down below). Using equation 1, the value found
was 196m/s^2. Next, we calculated the distance traveled on impact. Using
equation 2, we discovered the vehicle moved 12cm, or 0.12m. To be found
guilty of negligent driving in terms of speeding, you must have been driving at a
speed of the initial and supposed limit, then add an additional 30 km/h.
Hypothetically if the driver had indeed drove past the speed limit of 20km/h, she
must have been at a speed of over 50km/h. With these 3 values in mind, all we
had to do to was plug in the values to an equation that figures out the speed in
which the car had been driving. Using equation 3, we then circled back to a
velocity of 24.84 km/h. Since the crimes of negligent driving and driving under

the influence cannot be applied in this accident. We will have to pay for
insurance.
