DK (8ply) yarn in 5 colours.


4mm crochet hook (or hook needed to achieve correct tension). Yarn needle.
Suggested yarns:
- Rico baby classic DK (Featured) – 3 x 50g balls for yarn A,
2 x 50g balls for yarns B, C, D, E for sizes 8 – 16. For size 18 – 3 x 50g balls in each colour.
- Stylecraft Special DK – 2 x 100g balls in each colour for all sizes.

Pattern notes: Abbreviations:
This pattern is created by working the front and back separately from the bottom up, joining the shoulder seams, This pattern is written in UK
and working the neck rib in the round. The sleeves are worked flat from the cuff up and sewn on. crochet terms.
To avoid weaving in lots of ends, you can float your yarns up the side of your work at the end of each row. See st(s) = stitch(es)

Back:
Using a 4mm hook and yarn A, ch 83(85/93/97/101/109).
Row 1: Tr into 3rd ch from hook, tr to end, Turn. 82(84/92/96/100/108) sts.
Row 2: Ch2 (counts as first bptr), *fptr, bptr, fptr, rep from * to end, working last fptr around 2ch from previous row. Turn.
Rows 3-4: Rep row 2 twice more, remembering to turn at end of last row. Fl
Start clusters:
Row 5: Attach yarn B into top of 1st tr, ch2, 1tr in sp between 1st & 2nd tr, [miss 2 tr, 1 cluster into sp between tr] 2(2/1/2/2/1) times, *miss 3 tr,

Rows 6 & 7 form pattern. Rep pattern a further 32 times, working next row in yarn E, and then cont to rep colour pattern A, B, C, D, E
throughout. (Total 67 rows of clusters).
For petite, rep pattern 30 times. (Total 63 rows of clusters). For tall, rep pattern 34 times. (Total 71 rows of clusters).

Front:
Work rows 1-7 as for back.
Rows 6 & 7 form pattern. Rep pattern a further 25 times, working next row in yarn E, and then cont to rep colour pattern A, B, C, D, E
throughout. (Total 53 rows of clusters).
For petite, rep pattern 23 times. (Total 49 rows of clusters). For tall, rep pattern 27 times. (Total 57 rows of clusters).

Front neck shaping:
You are going to work both sides of the neckline at the same time.

Row 1: Attach new yarn colour into top of first tr, ch2, 1 cluster in sp between 2tr & first cluster, [1 cluster into nxt cluster sp]
9(9/10/11/11/12) times. Fo. Count 9(10/10/10/11/11) cluster sps, attach same yarn colour into 9th(10th/10th/10th/11th/11th) cluster sp, ch2,
2tr, [1 cluster into nxt cluster sp] 9(9/10/11/11/12) times, 1tr in top of last tr. Fl. Turn.

Row 2: Attach new yarn colour into top of first tr, ch2, 1tr in sp between tr & cluster, [1 cluster into nxt cluster sp] 9(9/10/11/11/12) times. Fo.
Attach same yarn colour into first cluster sp on opposite side of neck, ch2, 2tr in cluster sp, [1 cluster into nxt cluster sp] 8(8/9/10/10/11)

You will now continue to work up the neckline without decreasing:

times, 1tr in top of last tr. Fo. Attach same yarn colour in top of first tr on opposite side of neck, ch2, [1 cluster into nxt cluster sp]
7(7/8/9/9/10) times, 1tr in top of last tr. Fl. Turn.

Row 8: Attach new yarn colour into top of first tr, ch2, 1tr in sp between tr & cluster, [1 cluster into nxt cluster sp] (6(6/7/8/8/9) times, 1tr in
sp between last cluster and tr, 1tr in top of last tr. Fo. Attach same yarn colour in top of first tr on opposite side of neck, ch2, 1tr in sp between
tr & cluster, [1 cluster into nxt cluster sp] 6(6/7/8/8/9) times, 1tr in sp between last cluster and tr, 1tr in top of last tr. Fl. Turn.

Row 7 & 8 form pattern. Rep pattern 3 times more, changing yarn colour after each row. Fo last ends of each colour.

With right sides facing in, pin SHOULDER seams only, matching up clusters. Using a yarn needle and matching yarn, sew up using running
stitch or other suitable stitch.

Neck band:
With RS facing out, starting at left shoulder seam and using yarn A, sl st 108(114/114/114/120/120)sts loosely (you may want to use a larger
hook), around neckline as follows:
Round 1: sl st 12sts down vertical section of left front neck, 12sts down diagonal section of left front neck (do this by working a sl st in top of
last tr in cluster, *ch1, sl st in top of last tr in cluster below, rep from *ending in last tr of first cluster in centre front. See fig. 2). Sl st
21(24/24/24/27/27)sts across centre front neck, 12sts back up diagonal section of right front neck (in same way as before, see fig. 3), sl st
12sts up vertical section of right front neck and 39(42/42/42/45/45)sts across back neck. Join with a sl st into first st.
Round 2: ch2, 1tr in each sl st around neck, join with a sl st into top of first ch2.
Round 3: ch2, *fptr, bptr, fptr, rep from * to end, join with a sl st into first ch2.

Sleeves:
For the sleeves you are going to work from the cuff up, increasing gradually. Make two alike.
Using yarn A, ch 39(39/41/41/43/43).
Row 1: Tr into 3rd ch from hook, tr to end, Turn. 38(38/40/40/42/42) sts.
Row 2: Ch2, *fptr, bptr, fptr, rep from * to end, working last fptr around 2ch from previous row. Turn.
Rows 3-4: Rep row 2 twice more, remembering to turn at end of last row. Fl.
Row 5: Attach yarn B into top of 1st tr, ch2, 1tr in sp between 1st & 2nd tr, [miss 2 tr, 1 cluster into sp between tr] 0(0/1/1/2/2) times, *miss 3 tr,
1 cluster into sp, rep from * to last 4 tr, 1tr into sp between last 2 tr, 1tr into top of last tr. Fl. Turn. Should have 11(11/12/12/13/13) full
clusters.
Row 6: Attach yarn C into top of 1st tr, ch2, 1 cluster in sp between 2tr & cluster, *1 cluster into nxt cluster sp, rep from * to last 2 tr, 1tr into
top of last tr. Fl. Turn. Should have 12(12/13/13/14/14) full clusters.
Row 7: Attach yarn D into top of first tr, ch2, 1tr in sp between tr & cluster, *1 cluster in nxt cluster sp, rep from * to end, 1tr in sp between
last cluster and tr, 1tr into top of last tr. Fl. Turn. Should have 11(11/12/12/13/13) full clusters.
Rows 8 – 16: rep rows 6, 7, 6, 7, 6, 7, 6, 7, 6 following stripe colour pattern. (To shorten sleeves, work 2 rows less here. To lengthen, rep rows 6
& 7 once more).
Row 17 (increase row): Ch2, 2tr into sp between tr & cluster (counts as 1 cluster), *1 cluster in nxt cluster sp, rep from *to end, 3tr into sp
between last cluster & tr. Fl. Turn. Should now have 13(13/14/14/15/15) full clusters.
Row 18: Ch2, 1tr into 1st tr in cluster, *1 cluster in nxt cluster sp, rep from *to end, 2tr in top of last tr. Fl. Turn.
Rows 19-21: Rep rows 6, 7, 6, ignoring the original stitch counts as you have now increased.
Rep rows 17 -21 (6) times, ignoring the original stitch counts, as you will be increasing on every row 17.
Sizes 10 – 18 only: Rep rows 17 & 18, rep row 6.
Size 8 only: Rep rows 7, 6, 7.

At the end of the sleeve you should have 18(20/21/21/22/22) full clusters, 50 ROWS of clusters and 4 rows of rib.

Sewing together:
Mark centre of sleeve top with a stitch marker. With right sides of body and sleeve facing in, pin centre of sleeve top to shoulder seam. Pin
sleeve top along edge of main body, ensuring that you don’t stretch the sleeve and that both sides are even. Sew in place with a yarn
needle using running stitch, but leave a 4/5mm seam allowance to hide floated yarns. With right sides facing in, pin sleeve seams and side
seams together and sew in place in one long seam, using the same seam allowance and method. Weave in ends. Turn through to right side
and admire your new jumper!
