July 12, 2022 Township Council Meeting Minutes
Present: Martin Flemming, Council President; Andrew Kern, Council Vice President; Nino
Borrelli, Stephen Chisholm Jr. and Alexander Sauickie, Councilperson.
Others present: Terence Wall, Business Administrator; Gregory McGuckin, Township Attorney;
Mary Moss, Deputy Township Clerk.
“As Clerk of this meeting, I publicly announce that in compliance with the provisions of the “Open
Public Meetings Act” adequate notice of this meeting of the Jackson Township Council has been
advertised in the manner prescribed by law.”
A Motion was made by Councilperson Kern Seconded by Sauickie to go into Executive Session

A Motion was made by Councilperson Sauickie, Seconded by Borrelli to close Executive Session

Responders at home.

COUNCILMAN BORRELLI- Wished all the best to Captain Stephen Laskiewicz, and
Lieutenant Francisco Mendez on their retirements from the Jackson Police Department.
Congratulated Special Law Enforcement Officers on their appointments and the Police Officers
on their promotions, the Mayor and Council support and appreciate all of you. Encourages
residents to read an article that was recently written by Gloria Stravelli in the Tri Town News about
the Jackson Pathfinders. He recently joined the Mayor along with fellow Council members at the
ribbon cutting for the grand opening of the 7Eleven store on Monmouth Road and he hopes that
more ribbon cuttings in the months and years ahead. He wanted to remind residents that an active
local economy creates jobs, wealth, opportunities and brings in an abundance of tax revenue which
equates to a thriving town, which is the direction Jackson Township is heading in.
COUNCILMAN CHISHOLM- Congratulated the officers on their promotions, thanked them for
their service. Gave credit to the Mayor, Administration and Council for the day to day work they
do on a regular basis to control cost and offer value to residents.

COUNCILMAN SAUICKIE- Congratulated the new officers and those being promoted. Jackson
Police Department is second to none in the State. John Pejoski a retired Jackson Police officer
will be on the Zoning Board of Adjustment as he continues to volunteer his services to this town.
PRESENTATIONS:
Chief Kunz thanked Council President Flemming and Mayor Reina, Administrator and Council
for their continuing support of our Police Department.
Tonight’s promotions are for three career Police Officers and Four Class 2 Special Law
Enforcement Officers.
Police Sergeant Stephen Cilento, Lieutenant Sean Greenburger, and Police Captain John McBride.
Class 2 Special Law Enforcement Officers Christopher J. Sacchetti, Zachary J. White, John N.
D’Alssio, Scott J. McIovr.
Chief Kunz read the biographies of the three career Police Officers into the record and Deputy
Clerk Moss swore them in.
Chief Kunz introduced the four Class 2 Special Law Enforcement Officers into the record and
Deputy Clerk Moss swore them in.
ORDINANCE: 21-22
Motion to approve Ordinance 21-22 on First Reading and to authorize the notice of approval and
public hearing to be held on July 26, 2022 a motion was made by Councilperson Sauickie,
seconded by Councilperson Borrelli, upon the following:
Roll call vote: Ayes 5- Nays 0- Absent 0- Abstain 0
RESOLUTIONS:
Resolutions are filed in the Township’s Clerk's office and posted on the Township’s website.
JOSEPH Ricchiuti- Corey Lane –Last month the Planning Board had an application for a bike
path asked who will be responsible for maintaining the bike path. Council President Flemming the
builder will maintain the bike path.
