boredom. Thank you students as we move on to our lesson you’ll
further understand how viewing can help you as a learner.

In connection to our lesson for today, let us define the following terms:

Genre: Classification of materials we are viewing.

Viewing: It refers to perceiving, examining, interpreting, and

constructing meaning from visual images and is crucial to improving
comprehension of print and nonprint materials. This is the skill to be
taught as the learners are exposed to multimedia.

Viewing Materials (non-print): presented through digital, videos, films,

television, etc.
Why is it necessary to be aware of the different genres of materials
viewed?

That’s true to be aware of what kind of material you are viewing if it's
appropriate to you or if it's what you need to view.
One student will answer.

Let us now identify the different genres of material viewed.

1. News Flash: a single item of important news that is aired

separately and often interrupts other programs.

2. Weather Report: tells and foretells weather conditions in a

specific area.

3. Internet-Based Program: program that is informative and can

be accessed through the website.
