him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school.
While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support

Legally Blonde The Musical is perfect for showcasing the talent at WSO,
featuring a large ensemble and several big song-and-dance numbers that the
audience are bound to clap along to.
Running order
After choreographing many WSO productions before, this is my first year directing
and what a journey it has been. After two years with our theatre doors closed and
especially after all that we have been through, this means more to us all than ever.
It’s been an absolute honour to bring live theatre back to our academy and to
welcome our incredible students back onto this phenomenal stage.
It’s hard to put into words how much respect I have for the company of ‘Legally
Blonde’ - they are passionate, dedicated, and electric and I have loved every second of
the rehearsal process with them. When the West End stars came to WSO from
London, they were astounded at the sheer professionalism and work ethic of the
cast, noting that they are some of the most talented young people they had ever
worked with.
Our cast is a family and I want to make it very clear that this is not MY show, this is
OUR show. We have never had so much student leadership immersed within our
production team – WSO students designed the set; students are lighting the show;
students have refined choreography; and students are playing in the live production
band tonight! That is why I love this school: the students here are like no other and
can do more than you would ever expect of Secondary students.
Furthermore, I would like to thank the whole production team from the bottom of
my heart. No one ever sees the amount of extra hours the Performing Arts teachers
dedicate during the build-up to a large scale WSO musical – recording harmonies,
cutting wood, editing backing tracks, painting the set, finding props, creating
choreography, sewing costumes, and all outside of school time in their own free time.
I couldn’t have asked for a better or more skilled and passionate team, so the success
of this show is down to them all.
Finally, ‘Legally Blonde’ is all about challenging stereotypes and recognising that we
are ALL capable of anything we put our minds to! I hope that I have been able to
instill this attitude in the students as they have grown through the rehearsal process.
I also hope that this show can remind you of this yourself: our audience of dedicated,
supportive parents, and the WSO community. Thank you for being here tonight and
for sharing this journey with the WSO Senior Theatre Company - giving them the
applause they truly deserve!

perform alongside such a talented cast.
Warner Huntington III (Cast One) and Kyle (Cast Two) – Aston Mtada:
Warner is a charismatic, charming and very self-absorbed Law student, who will do whatever it takes to achieve his dream of
becoming a Senator.
Aston is originally from Zimbabwe but was raised in Dubai. He began performing and writing his own songs at the age of 5,
before joining the school choir and he has never looked back. Aston joined WSO 7 years ago and has been involved in
events such as: the sports teen awards, whereby he modeled for sketchers; performances with the professional dance

Working with west end stars
From the 7th - 11th November, the WSO Secondary Theatre Company were lucky enough to work with three West
end stars, who were flown out from London, to share their Performing Arts experience with the cast.
Harriet Thorpe, Jay Bryce, and Gemma McMeel worked 1-2-1 with the lead characters on their character
development, vocal technique and textual analysis.
They also set two of the musical numbers: So Much Better and Legally Blonde Remix with the cast. Gemma
created and set the choreography, while Jay taught the harmonies and Harriet worked on character details and
development.
All of the WSO students learnt a wealth of knowledge and professionalism from Harriet, Jay and Gemma and they
helped the cast’s performance get to where it is today. We would like to thank Harriet, Jay and Gemma for
sharing their passion, energy and expertise with us all so openly and honestly – we loved working with you and
cannot wait to welcome you back to WSO!
