“Some beautiful paths can’t be discovered without getting lost.”

I don’t know about you, but I am fond of travel journeys that ultimately begins with rain and tea.
Those droplets on the window of the bus, the sweet smell of petrichor, which plays hide and seek
with your lenses inside the AC compartment and lots of silicon relations.

My blog would be dedicated to my journey experiences & suggestions related to Dalhousie. My

journey started with a mesmerizing ride with my friend Vaibhav in Scorpio, to the destination.
Although I can’t foresee the change in weather but during this journey, his car did not to support
us I won’t say too much at this point for now. After that, we played Vaibhav’s playlist on the
car’s speaker, and we felt the rush of our emotions by witnessing those changing landscapes with
the background music. Out of the blue, we recalled the lyrics of the song of Prateek Kuhad “Iss
dil ki aadat yahi hai gir kr samhalta nhii hai” with the flow of scenic beauty that we were
witnessing.

As a result, I had an hour to eat before the bus left for the final destination. My day was made by
the parathas packed with a spicy potato filling and served with butter and a massive glass of
sweet lassi by Punjabi ka Dhaba. Usually, this leads to restful sleep while travelling. At 9:30
p.m., I was finally ready for the bus. The very next day I & Vaibhav had our breakfast and we
decided to make a checklist of the places that we were about to visit

We then finally reached our destination, Dalhousie Elgin Hall, after the massive bus struggle and
by castigating Vaibhav’s playlist. The place was very charismatic which we captured in our eye
lens. We felt very lethargic as we entered the hotel.

Meanwhile, if you are not acquainted with anybody here, or if you don’t know people or if you
are coming first time like me to visit northern west of Himanchal state hopefully through my
blog. Serendipity happened I met a person out of nowhere and we had a common ground I asked
him about this place he was a traveller. It’s difficult to match up several the word right now in a
minute for the idea of this trend is to really go away from the city light as much as the circuit that
we have chosen we are landed up at a place called Dainkund peak which is not where people
actually go. Normally you would have heard of the place Khajjiar, which is also known as mini-
Switzerland so that what this route is mysterious and as it unfolds through our words people will
get to feel how it is.

The best time to visit Khajjiar will be during summer. There are places to eat near the lake, as
well as a few homestays if you want to make Khajjiar your base for a few nights. Khajjiar is also
known as Mini Switzerland of India, and in just once glance it is easy to understand why. A
massive, beautiful trees in the middle, a small stream-fed lake — that’s what Khajjiar is, in
nutshell. The landscapes in Khajjiar are of the sorts of a typical Himachal. No wonder, it is one
of the best places to visit near Dalhousie. I really recommended every one to visit for once.
Every morning we use to watch the sunrise while having our breakfast with playing lofi songs
that gives you the mellifluous aroma.

Must visit places

 Khajjiar
 Dainkund

 Kalatop

 Dalhousie Market

 Dalhousie mall road

 Tibetan market

Dainkund

Dainkund Peak is the most fascinating place of Dalhousie. We had smooth on our ride to
Dainkund, We enjoyed the hilly ride to Pohlani Mata Temple. All around meadows, natural
beauty and breath-taking views

Kalatop

Kalatop is one of the known places to visit near Dalhousie. It is most popular for those who want
to experience snow-capped peaks of the mighty Dhauladhar ranges. The end point of Kalatop,
where you can find a hardly place to eat and a few homestays to stay (for about 1000 – 1500
Rupees), draws tourists from across India. It is located round about 10-12 km from Dalhousie and
inside the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary. Tourists need to pay an entry fee for their car and
motorcycle to access the wildlife area (located at Lakkad Mandi).

Dalhousie Market

For anyone visiting Dalhousie, visiting the market, particularly after sunset is a must. And that’s
what I suggest you do too. During daytime, the mall road in Dalhousie can feel a little crowded
to some people. But evenings are comparatively quieter. They are perfect.

Dalhousie mall road

Dalhousie’s mall road is also known as Gandhi Chowk. One of major hanging out places for all
youngsters and elderly. It is one of the points where people can do shopping to their best.

Tibetan market

There are many small markets inside this big market. There we can shop souvenirs and special
things that are associated with the memories of Himachal & Dalhousie. For photographers and
Instagram- enthusiasts, the crucial time to visit will be during the morning when we have the soft
morning light, but I understand it won’t be possible if we are doing the same one-day Dalhousie
itinerary since we have an order to follow.

The best charismatic memories at Dalhousie which should be on your to-do list too if you plan to
visit Dalhousie

The view of snow-covered peaks turning orange to yellow to white while Sunrise, the orange sky
during the sunset, beautiful sky full of stars during the night.

Walks while passing through forests, that cool breeze of trees, and the shining sun

Sitting quietly on the peaceful ground and enjoying the beautiful range of Himalayas

Enjoying the best traditional dishes Pani puri, Momo, and ice cream at Gandhi Chowk

360° view at Dainkund

Knowing new people and making new friends

Most Important — Trekking!

At last, I concluded my trip with a memorable dinner. I highly suggest you check out this
astonishing place name Cafe Dalhousie and Elgin Hall where we stayed for 4 days and also, I
liked sitting at the hotel, enjoying this beautiful range of Himalayas and serenity of this place

Conclusion

I adore travelling! I have been travelling massively for past 4 years. Travelling gives me the time
to read, to exaggerate new things, to taste different food, to meet new people, for a sabbatical,
and to have some adventure. The most vital thing travelling brings me closer to my inner self. I
get time for introspection, to foresee and plan for the future and make crucial decisions. This is
how I adore myself more! I look forward to visit Dalhousie twice or thrice or multiple times

“Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.” Hence, I recommend you too to visit
more to learn and explore about different destinations. The more you travel the more you would
know how varied and big the country in terms of thinking, cultures, and perspectives is. I would
strongly recommend to start exploring from Dalhousie as it is my favourite destination too and
for sure you’ll enjoy the stay.
