About the Author
Ankur Mithal is a widely experienced business
professional. In over 15 years with Standard
Chartered Bank, he worked in Sales, Project
Management as well as Operations, operating
out of Kolkata, Delhi, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and
Singapore at different points and leading
cross-border multicultural teams. Thereafter, in
the BPO industry, he led delivery for leading clients of IBM Daksh
and HCL BPO. He was involved in a number of improvement
interventions in the BPO industry that straddled the disciplines of
Organizational Development as well as Quality which created interest
and enabled him to learn about them.
Dr. Robinson over the last seventeen years has been developing
and facilitating Marketing, Human Resource Development,
Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, and
Change Management courses/seminars at various universities and
organizations across the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In
addition, Dr. Robinson has developed customized curriculums and
educational programs for various state government and private
agencies in the areas of career development, personal management,
and strategic planning. In 2010, Dr. Robinson began to receive
personal invitations from Chapter Presidents to present Human
Resources/Executive Training courses to various Society of Human
Resource Management Chapters across the country.

This book uses a general model of planned change like the Quality
management framework: Entry, Diagnosis, Implementation, Evaluation,
and Institutionalization. The model allows the reader to understand each
phase of the OD process. The language of the book is easy to understand
and it includes summaries and quizzes at the end of each chapter. It
also includes a useful OD proposal in section 4.4. This book is useful for
undergraduate and graduate students and can be used in Organizational
Development and Organizational Behavior courses.

beginning and evolution of OD, it’s relevance, challenges, and excitement

skills, and ethics that an OD practitioner must possess and practice.
The book will benefit young aspirants wanting to build a career in OD.
It provides useful perspectives to trainers and early stage consultants
who wish to explore OD as a field of practice. It will also serve as
an informative source for non OD professionals supporting OD
interventions. The essential message of the book is that organizations
should not react to change but embrace, engage and manage it.
