What is Chronic
Kidney Disease?

CKD is a condition in which the kidneys


are damaged and cannot filter blood as
well as they should.
Cause of Chronic
Kidney Disease
Diabetes and high blood pressure are the
most common causes of chronic kidney
disease (CKD). Your health care provider will
look at your health history and may do tests
to find out why you have kidney disease. The
cause of your kidney disease may affect the
type of treatment you receive.
Preventing Chronic

Make healthy food

Make physical activity
Aim for a healthy weight
Get enough sleep
Stop smoking
Limit alcohol intake
Sign of ckd
Nausea
Vomiting
Loss of appetite
Fatigue and weakness
Sleep problems
Urinating more or less
Decreased mental sharpness
Muscle cramps
Swelling of feet and ankles
Dry, itchy skin
High blood pressure (hypertension) that's difficult to
control
Shortness of breath, if fluid builds up in the lungs
Chest pain, if fluid builds up around the lining of the heart
