Policies for the Non-Thesis MSEE Program

- The non-thesis MS degree requires 33 credits of graduate coursework.

ECE courses (4400, 4450): 18 credits


Mathematics (3450): 6 credits
Approved electives: 9 credits

Total: 33 credits

- The Plan of Study must be approved by the advisory committee before 12 credits are
completed.

- Students in the non-thesis MS program must pass an oral comprehensive exam,


administered by the advisory committee, after completing no less than 24 credits of
graduate coursework.

- MS students on assistantship are not allowed to enroll in the non-thesis program.

- MS or PhD Graduate students who have been supported on assistantship for more than
one semester will not be allowed to transfer to the non-thesis MS program.

Coursework Policies:
- Rules applying to the approved electives and to the allowable substitutions for ECE and
Mathematics courses are the same as those for the thesis option.
- At least 18 credits must be at or above the 600 level.
- At most 6 credits are allowed to be Special Topics or Special Problems.
