Young Poets Club

Shakespeare? Robert Frost? Emily Dickinson? They all started writing when they
were young and have become timeless poets that are still read and studied today! You,
too, can learn to tap your inner voice, feelings, and unique perspective on the things
around you by writing poetry.
Who: SVE Hawks 4th, and 5th graders

When: Poets will meet from 3:05-4:00 p.m., Tuesdays beginning Jan. 17Th through Feb. 14th.
Where: SVE Library.
What You Need: Your Chromebook, a positive attitude, and some creative juices

At the end of the workshop, you will participate in a reading where you will get a chance to read your
best poems after school on Tuesday, Feb. 14th in the Library Area from 3:15-4:00. Poets will receive
special prizes based on effort, participation, ability, and presentation.
*Please invite family, friends, and teachers to the reading as well!*

Please have your parent complete and sign the permission slip below and keep the top as a reminder.

Space is limited. Permission slips are due by the end of the school day on January 12th, 2023.
