How to fix fake competition and club names

in FM 2023
1. Quit the game (if it's open).

2. Extract the contents of the pack you downloaded from here to a temporary location.
You'll need them for step 6.

3. Find the  2300 folder.

 Windows:

STEAM

\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager

2023\data\database\db\2300\
EPIC GAMES

\Program Files\Epic Games\FootballManager2023\data\database\db\2300\

 Mac:

STEAM

/Users/[username]/Library/Application
Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager
2023/database/data/db/2300/
EPIC GAMES

/Users/Shared/Epic Games/FootballManager2023/database/data/db/2300/

4. Open the  lnc folder and then enter the  all sub-folder.

5.  Delete all files you can find in there, particularly the following 3 files:

 fake.lnc
 lic_dan_swe_fra.lnc
 nleague.lnc

6. Move  FM23 Fix by FMScout.lnc and  FM23 Club Names by FMScout.lnc inside this
 all folder.

7. Go 2 folders back to find the  edt folder.

Open it and then enter the  permanent sub-folder.

This will fix Niko Kovač from getting renamed to Max Freund, Oliver Kahn from getting renamed to Jens our members. login or sign up to
Freund, and a couple of more people. start chatting.


9. Again go 2 folders back, this time to find the  dbc folder.

Then enter the  permanent sub-folder.

 Delete the following 4 files:

 brazil_kits.dbc
 forbidden names.dbc
 Licensing2.dbc
 Licensing2_chn.dbc
This will prevent Brazilian clubs from reverting to 3-letter names and will allow certain kits to be visible again.

10. Open the game and enjoy Football Manager 2023 with real names.

IMPORTANT: The fix for Brazilian clubs can only take effect with a new
save because dbc files affect the saved game when it's first created.

For reference, the folder structure of the path you need to apply the fix is as follows:

 2300

 dbc

 permanent

 brazil_kits.dbc
 forbidden names.dbc
 Licensing2.dbc
 Licensing2_chn.dbc
 ...
 edt

 permanent

 fake.edt
 ...
 lnc

 ...

 Brazilian clubs have three-letter names in my game. How to fix?

Even though Brazilian club names are fixed in our files, the game will continue to show the
3-letter name instead of the full name. That is due to certain dbc files that affect them when
you save your game for the first time. You need to start a new save AFTER applying this fix
(in full), for Brazilian team names to be correct.

 I applied the fix, but I'm still seeing some wrong club names.
During career game set up, you will still see incorrect names for some clubs, but once you
select your club and start playing, the names will be correct.

 Where is Application Support folder on Mac OS X

Mac users who have trouble locating their Application Support folder, please follow these
steps:

1. Open a Finder window

2. Press CMD + Shift + G on your keyboard to open the “Go to folder” window
3. Type: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 2023
and press “Go” or hit enter

If your opinion for a name change isn't widely accepted, it's advised to change the name
yourself.

Open the fix file in a text editor such as Notepad, search for the name you want to change,
change it, and save. It's really that simple. The fix will apply the next time you start FM23.

The names of the championship in switzerland is false. It's no :

- Raiffeissen Super league for D1 but Credit Suisse Super League

- Brack.ch Challenge League for D2 but Dieci Challenge League

today (10/11). These files are only about real club/competitions names.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a big fan of this fix, but there could be some improvements made to the
consistency, e.g. Scottish clubs have "FC" at the end of their full name ("Celtic FC") whereas the
English clubs don't ("Chelsea"), then other clubs around Europe have their full name ("Real
Madrid Club de Fútbol").

This isn't the fault of the fix at all, but annoying that the text commentary uses the full name, like
"Exhilarating stuff from Real Madrid Club de Fútbol!" which would obviously never happen!

I changed a few team names myself, but it gets saves as a "Rich text document" instead of a
"LNC File" does anybody know how to fix this?

@Shux yes you'll need to do it every time a new update is available.

That's why you will find a new folder in the database (ex: version 23.0, 23.1 etc.)

But the fix you did will still work with that specific save. FMS Chat –

Please make the beta limitations clear!

For the beta version of the game, the below are NOT possible due to the structure of the files.
They will be available once the full game is available.

Brazilian clubs' text colours are changed through an editor data file.

Another editor data file creates the Ajax non-playing staff and the German national team
manager missing from the database due to licensing restrictions.

The addition of real-life media and journalists, encompassing most major footballing nations and
continents.
Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with
any changes made in the lnc files.

is it possible to change lecce, napoli and monza's short names on match screen or do we have
to wait for fm 23 editor's release on nov 8th?

for example: i'm managing fiorentina and when i was playing against napoli it showed as "par-fio"
instead of "nap-fio", it's same for monza(bri) and lecce(sal).

i couldn't find it in the file which we added to "all" folder. i guess it'll be fixed via fm 23 editor but
wanted to ask here first.
