Introduction
Brief compilation of preponderant terms related to the analysis, development and
temporary implementation of our information system in process. Which express
actions, concepts and comparisons between terms or other types of hardware and
software.
This reference guide aims to contribute to the enrichment of our own vocabulary
and to the communication between administrators, users and end customers.
Interface: It is understood as interface, to that direct interaction between the
computer and person (user), that is to say, that actions occur as easy to use as the
interaction with a cell phone. And receive responses from the computer or
machine, according to the actions given.
Requirements: A clear, concise and specific definition of the development
behavior to be implemented, as well as the interaction with each of the direct
actors with the software. Generally, it is more convenient to call them Functional.
Flow diagrams: That graphical representation of the process and what we want
our system to do. Each one of the activities and their dependence is developed
sequentially. It is easier to design the model to be developed in this way, than to
start with the prototypes and input source code.
Protocols: Communication protocols allow to establish the necessary rules to
have a successful communication in the network. There are many of them, and
they can be divided by their use or scope.
OSI: The Opens Systems Interconnection is a theoretical reference model, in
which the process of communication in the network is divided. It’s divided into 7
layers, starting with the physical layer and ending with the application layer. It’s
used generally for network communication but it is not mandatory, I mean, we can
establish network communication without using the 7 layers in total. The OSI model
is more standardized than the TCP model, which is used for internet
communication.
Normalization: Is the process in which we organize data in a database. We could
have 2 models for the database, the first one normalized and the other represented
in its first prototype. The first one will be easier to implement and develop than the
second one. The normalized design allows us to save space in memory. Thus, the
second one is more expensive than the first one, speaking of computing resources.
Hardware:Hardware in computing refers to the physical, tangible parts of a
computer system, its electrical, electronic and electromechanical
components. Cables, as well as furniture or boxes, peripherals of all kinds,
and any other physical element involved, make up the hardware or physical
support.
Platform: It Is a system that is used as a basis for operating certain hardware
or software modules with which it is compatible.
