The Kind of Young People Needed Today

W HAT is the kind of young people the Church needs today? Let us allow the Bible to answer
this question. At the same time, let us encourage our young people to be the kind of people
God would have them to be.

The Church of today needs young people like Jesus. He is our Supreme example to follow (1 Pe-
ter 2:21-22). From the life of Jesus we learn that young people can dedicate their time to God’s
work (Luke 2:49). We also learn how to be obedient to the will of God (John 12:49-50; Philippians
2:5-11). He gives us a great example in every aspect of life!

The Church today needs young people like Timothy. This faithful Christian was (1) knowledgea-
ble in the Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:14-15), (2) enjoyed a great reputation in many places (Acts 16:1-2),
(3) was well-prepared to face false teachers and their error (1 Timothy 1:3), and (4) a person who
loved and served the Church (Philippians 2:19-23).

The Church of today needs young people like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.
These faithful servants of God were (1) men of conviction and determination to say no to sin
(Daniel 1:8), men of courage to not bow to idolatry (Daniel 3:8-18), men of good reputation (Daniel
6:1-23), and men of prayer (Daniel 6:10).

The Church of today needs young people like Joseph. This faithful man of God is a great example
of courage to stand for what is right (Genesis 39:9). He is also an example of moral faithfulness to
God (Genesis 39:9). He teaches every young person and adult that temptation can be overcome.

I, personally, would like to encourage our young people to imitate these great examples we find in
the Bible. These are there for our example! The world will be able to see Christ in our lives when we
strive each day to be more like these faithful young persons. I am confident that with God’s help,
we can make a difference.

La clase de jóvenes que la iglesia necesita hoy

¿ QUÉ tipo de jóvenes necesita la Iglesia hoy? Dejemos que la Biblia responda a esta pregunta.
Al mismo tiempo, animemos a nuestros jóvenes a ser el tipo de gente que Dios quiere que
sean.

La Iglesia de hoy necesita jóvenes como Jesús. Él es nuestro supremo ejemplo a seguir (1 Pedro 2:
21-24). De la vida de Jesús aprendemos que los jóvenes pueden dedicar su tiempo a la obra de Dios
(Lucas 2:49; Juan 4:34). También aprendemos a ser obedientes a la voluntad de Dios (Juan 12: 49-50,
Filipenses 2: 5-11). ¡Él nos da un gran ejemplo en todos los aspectos de la vida!

La Iglesia de hoy necesita jóvenes como Timothy. Este fiel cristiano estaba (1) bien informado en
las Escrituras (2 Timoteo 3: 14-15), (2) gozó de una gran reputación en muchos lugares (Hechos 16:
1-2), (3) estaba bien preparado para enfrentar falsos maestros (1 Timoteo 1: 3), y (4) fue una persona
que amó y sirvió a la Iglesia (Filipenses 2: 19-23).

La Iglesia de hoy necesita jóvenes como Daniel, Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-Nego. Estos fieles siervos
de Dios eran (1) hombres de convicción y determinación para decir no al pecado (Daniel 1: 8), hom-
bres de valor para no inclinarse ante la idolatría (Daniel 3: 8-18), hombres de buena reputación
(Daniel 6:1-23), y hombres de oración (Daniel 6:10).

La Iglesia de hoy necesita jóvenes como José. Este hombre fiel de Dios es un gran ejemplo de valor
para defender lo que es correcto (Génesis 39: 9). También es un ejemplo de fidelidad moral a Dios
(Génesis 39: 9). Él enseña a cada joven y adulto que la tentación puede ser superada.

Yo, personalmente, quisiera animar a nuestros jóvenes a imitar estos grandes ejemplos que encon-
tramos en la Biblia. ¡Éstos están allí para nuestro ejemplo! El mundo podrá ver a Cristo en nuestras
vidas cuando nos esforzamos cada día por ser más como estos jóvenes fieles. Estoy seguro de que
con la ayuda de Dios podemos hacer la diferencia.
