Insufficient Standards of Authority (2)

L AST week we discussed the first part of insufficient standards of authority. It is my prayer that we were
able to study each of the ones I presented, and that we were able to reason correctly about them. To fol-
low insufficient standards of authority is to invite destruction upon our souls. This is the case because each
standard of authority which does not comply with the Word of God constitutes a perversion of the Scrip-
tures (2 Peter 3:16-17). This, my brethren, is condemn by God. And so, with this in mind, let us examine the
second part of this brief study.

“Most preachers, and specially the one in my congregation says I can do it”— Sad to say, most Christians
have believed this erroneous standard of authority. The apostle Paul refutes this by the teaching of Galatians
1:6-9, where he tells us that no man, or an angel has the authority to change what God has established
through His Word. The preacher must do everything by the authority of Christ (Colossians 3:17).

“The most important thing is for me to feel good about what I do”— We as Christians must remember that
our sole priority is to please God and not ourselves. Paul said in Galatians 1:10 that he was not seeking to
please man, but Christ. When I do not make every effort to obey God’s Word, then I am seeking to please
myself and not God. Remember, it is not about you!

“I don’t need to have book, chapter and verse for everything I do — This is not what Colossians 3:17 and 1
Peter 4:11 teach. If we do or say anything, it must be done by the authority of God. Most people do not like
the Bible because the Word of God does not provide authority for the things they want to practice.

“God does not care how we do it, so long as we do it in love and for Him” — This is one big mistake that
people make today. Most people in the world do things their own way and profess to do it in love for God,
but this does not mean that they are right in what they do. God does care how we do things. Remember that
not everyone who says Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but only he who do it the will of
my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). We must be very careful to always to things according to
God’s Word, and not our own will.

Estándares Insuficientes de Autoridad (2)

L A semana pasada examinamos la primera parte de estándares insuficientes de autoridad. Es mi ora-
ción que hayamos podido estudiar bien cada punto, y lo mas importante, que hayamos razonado
correctamente sobre ellos. Seguir estándares insuficientes de autoridad es invitar destrucción sobre
nuestras almas. Este es el caso dado a que cada estándar de autoridad que no cumpla con la Palabra de Dios
constituye una perversión de las Escrituras (2 Pedro 3:16-17). Esto, mis hermanos, es condenado por Dios.
Por lo tanto, con esto en mente, examinemos la segunda parte de este breve estudio.

“Muchos predicadores, especialmente el que tenemos en la congregación dice que lo podemos hacer” — Es
triste decirlo, pero muchos han creído en este estándar de autoridad erróneo. El apóstol Pablo refuta esto por
medio de la enseñanza de Gálatas 1:6-9, donde dice que ningún hombre o ángel tiene la autoridad para cam-
biar lo que Dios ya ha establecido por medio de Su Palabra. El predicador debe hacer todo por la autoridad
de Cristo (Colosenses 3:17).

“Lo más importante es que yo me sienta bien en lo que hago”— Como Cristianos debemos recordar que
nuestra prioridad es agradar a Dios y no a nosotros mismos. Pablo dijo en Gálatas 1:10 que él no buscaba el
favor de los hombres, sino el de Dios. Cuando no me esfuerzo por obedecer la Palabra de Dios, entonces es-
toy buscando agradarme y no a Dios. ¡Recuerde que no se trata de usted!

“No necesito libro, capítulo y versículo para todo lo que hago” — Esto no es lo que enseña Col. 3:17 y 1 P.
4:11. Si hacemos o decimos algo, debe ser hecho por la autoridad de Dios. A muchos no les gusta la Biblia
porque ella no provee autoridad para lo que desean hacer.

“A Dios no le importa como lo haga, todo y cuando lo haga en amor y para Él” — Este es un gran error que
muchos cometen en la actualidad. Muchos hacen las cosas a su manera, y a la misma vez profesan hacerlo en
amor para Dios; sin embargo, esto no significa que lo hacen correctamente. A Dios sí le importa como hace-
mos las cosas. Recordemos que no todo el que le dice Señor, Señor, entrara en el reino, sino el que hace la
voluntad de Dios (Mateo 7:21). Debemos hacer las cosas siempre conforme a la voluntad de Dios, y no la
