COURSE SYLLABUS IN NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM 1

COURSE TITLE : Civic Welfare Training Service 1


COURSE CODE : NSTP 1
NUMBER OF UNITS : 3 Units
CONTACT HOURS : 3 Hours per week {1 semester}

COURSE PLACEMENTS : 1st Year College Students
COURSE DURATION : 54 HOURS
SEMESTER/TERM : 1st Semester, AY 2022-2023
TIME/ROOM : 6-9am {Monday -BSED} 1-4pm {Monday -BSCS}

COURSE DESCRIPTION : A program designed as a service component of the NSTP contributory to the general welfare and development of the community members particularly
in terms of health education, safety, livelihood, recreation, environmental protection and the moral of the citizenry. The teaching learning activities is focused in
the development of the students to become assets of the community, society and to the nation as a whole. Thus, making them aware of their responsibilities as
indiviuals and integrate values education, transformational leadership and sustainable social mobilization for youth and family development, community
building, national security, and global solidarity.

The National Service Training Program is based on Republic Act 9163or the National Service Training Program (nstp) Act which was signed into law in
2001. This program seeks to “promote civic consciousness among the youth” and develop “their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being.” It
also inculcates in the youth “patriotism, nationalism, and advance their involvement in public and civic affairs.”

VISSION : A competitive institution providing quality tertiary and basic education and training along side research and public service in the countryside with a view
to produce leaders and empowered citizens of the country.

MISSION : Offer and maintain relevant and responsive degree programs and technical-vocational programs to produce globally competitive manpower;
Provide state-of-the-art ICT facilities and equipment to support instruction, training, research and public service; Practice varied instructional delivery modes to
address the students’ diverse learning needs; Promote linkages and network through active social participation in socio-civic activities in the community.

Graduates of the SLTCF-PDI, taking up BSEd, major in English and Mathematics are teachers who can:

delivery, assessment and research;

Each student’s performance will be evaluated in the following areas to determine the student’s grade for this course:

CLASSROOM POLICIES/GUIDELINES:

a. Attendance is counted from the first regular class meeting.


b. A validated student identification card must always by worn be all students while attending classes.

c. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Any form of dishonesty shall be dealt with accordingly. Honesty is called for at all times.

d. Valid examination permits are necessary in taking the examinations as scheduled. PRESCRIBED CALCULATORS are allowed during EXAMINATIONS.

e. Base-15 grading policy should be observed. Students who obtained failing scores in major exams are recommended to submit special projects/re-take special exam.
