    A range of passive and active energy efficiency


    measures will be employed on the Proposed Devel-
    opment.

    Passive Measures

    This study looked at a plethora of facade options with


    the aim of limiting the amount of solar gain in summer
    and achieving the required number of BREEAM ENE
    01 credits.

    Active Measures

    The following energy efficiency measures will be used


    for this development:

    • Efficient mechanical ventilation systems with heat


    recoveny for domestic and commercial units; 1. Green Roof
    • Enhanced levels of pipework insulation;
    • Variable speed pumping;
    • Low energy lighting throughout;
    • DC fan coil units for the commercial spaces
    • Sensible zoning of systems in the commercial build-
    ings.
