Each family has numerous different rules, and there are three important ones that my
family members must follow.
The first one is being respectful to everyone. I have to be polite and always say please and
thanks, especially to the elderly. If I don’t obey, I will get punished from my parents.
Another important rule is that I have to help around with the housework. My parents are
busy with their work, so we share the chores equally. I take the responsibilities for washing
dishes and cleaning the floor on a daily basis.
Last but not least, my parents want me to take my studies seriously. If I get low scores,
they will be sad and upset. Therefore, I always make an effort to gain better performance at
school which makes my parents happier after a hard working day.
There have always been conflicts between parents and their children and my family is no
exception.
One common area of conflict is the different tastes in music. I prefer listening to k-pop,
and hip hop songs while my parents keen on easy-listening such as folk or country songs.
When I turn on my favorite playlists, they usually complain and offer me to change songs.
This makes me feel uncomfortable because they do not respect my hobby.
The conflicts list seems to be endless. To solve those disagreements, I think the
wisest solution would be for me and my parents to understand mutually.
. The most crucial rule in my family is that I need to respect others, no matter what I have to be
nice in my behaviors, it means when I meet the elderly, I need to be the first one who is willing
to greet and help them. In other words, Showing respect for elders is a way of showing that we
value them. The second rule is to keep my room tidy. My parents often ask me to clean up my
room and also my studying desk to make sure it looks organized. Consequently, it can bring a
sense of satisfaction when I need to study. Helping with household duties is also one of my
family rules, I am in charge of cleaning the house, we attempt to share it equally because we
are also busy with our work.
