Green Your Home or School Project

Assignment Directions:

1. Research, detail, explain an implementation plan to ‘Green’ your home or school. What combination
of innovative, state of the art, unique or conventional methods could you use to improve the
sustainability of your home or school. How could you reduce this building’s ecological footprint? What
could you incorporate into you action plan to make your home or school more sustainable?

2. Write and detail an action plan to ‘Green’ your home or school. You may choose to focus on your
current academic institution or your own home. Research what you could do to make either your
campus or your home more energy efficient and environmentally friendly. There are many new types
of technology, building materials and designs that are being used to build new buildings and to
refurbish or renovate existing buildings. Come up with your own action plan on what you will do. Be
as detailed as possible in your plan.

3. You should aim for at least 3 detailed ideas for your action plan. For example, an idea might be to
change the lightbulbs to a LED type to reduce overall energy consumption. Try to think outside the
box. Incorporating energy saving appliances in to your action plan – although a good idea, is not being
innovative.

4. Your report must be referenced. Include all references in proper APA citation format.

5. Your assignment submission must be typed and submitted through the appropriate Assignment 3
DROPBOX provided in your online course home shell. Assignment must be submitted in a .doc(x) or
.pdf format, .pdf preferred. It must also contain your name, home college and assignment number.
