Introduction
NCFE has created a sample task for unit 2 Managing personal and professional development
(R/615/4516) which you can contextualise to suit the needs of your learners to help them complete their
internal assessment. The task has been designed to cover all the learning outcomes for the unit and
provide opportunities for stretch and challenge.
You should plan the subject and apply the brief to the tasks in a way that suits your learners. If you
choose to create your own internal assessment tasks, they must:

Scenario
You are a Personal Development Coach for Recognising Potential LTD. Your role is to help
individuals plan their personal and professional development. You also work with many businesses
who are keen to develop the personal and professional development of their employees.
You have been inspired by the quote below, which has prompted you to analyse some of the
different factors which may influence the need for personal and professional development, and how
this can be implemented.

To be able to effectively support individuals to plan their personal and professional development you
should research and analyse different perspectives and approaches that can influence personal and
professional development considering:
the influence developments in management can have on the need for professional development
management and leadership styles and how these can inspire others to realise their personal values
and goals and plan for a career that helps them to achieve them
possible causes of changes in the work environment and the impact this can have on the personal
and professional development of individuals in your team
