summer heat. Dreams become portentous in the heady humidity of this
warm season. Seed pods are thought to summon the Murmurtide, and
are thus common household decorations after the last harvest of the year.
The name locals give to the true darkness produced by the temporary
synchronization of the iron plates orbiting their city. A leftover defensive
measure from a forgotten war, each plate is inscribed with an unreadable
symbol. Considered mundane by its residents.
A highly unusual extra summer produced by the conjunction of three
celestial bodies. Can be predicted through esoteric calculation. Summer
Days produce an entire growth cycle over the span of roughly 1 day, and
have caused many ash oods due to rapidly melting winter snows.
Multiple Summer Days in a year are considered an ill omen.
Named after a trickster god, Ikano’s Spring promises wet brown mud and
delayed growth. Hibernating animals awaken to nd the world still empty
of life. The fable goes that Ikano tricked 4 brothers into a contest over the
hand of a forest goddess, and the youngest brother waited for weeks
before realizing Ikano’s impishness.
The time in the middle of winter when the restless dead stay in their
graves. Believed to be the protection of a nearby sacred mountain,
sharing its blessed snows with the villages below. Can last from 3 weeks
to 3 months.
Celebratory name for a special spring that occurs every 5 years when a
second, temporary sun emerges with the true sun after the long dark of
winter. Each temporary sun is named after a recently deceased hero or
elder.
The accumulated ash of summer wild res can sometimes create a false
autumn to the south, coating everything with dull ash. Houses are built
with no doors or windows facing north, and “looking northwards” has
become a colloquialism for “inviting misfortune.”
A mild, second winter that occurs when both moons experience a
simultaneous eclipse. Magic related to medicine, healing, and rest is
especially strong in the weeks before and after this event.

Each year the dry river beds are lled with water, and thus life. But some
years are said to bring a special water that lls the earth with vitality. In
ancient times, parents would purposefully drink from the rivers in the

hopes of having multiple children. Now, Awakening Rain is heavily
monitored to ensure stable population growth. However, it’s water has
become a luxury commodity.
Green Autumns are celebrated for the mild winter they promise. Named
after a migratory green bird that will sometimes come and cover branches

after their leaves have fallen. Their arrival is a sign of fortune, plenty of
food, good health, and longevity.
