CLAIM: “DIVORCE SHOULD BE LEGAL IN THE PHILIPPINES”

STAND: DISAGREE

REASONS: DIVORCE SHOULD NOT BE LEGALIZED HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES.

For me there’s a lot of reason that divorce should not be legalized here in the
Philippines. As one of the victims who have a broken family, it is very difficult for us to have in a
situation like this. If divorce will be legalized here in our country, it is very easy to them to end
up their relationships rather than to fix it for the sake of their children and of course to the
years they were in a relationship together. It is very easy to cheat on their partner just because
divorced is already legal. It would be their main solution in every family problem they might
encounter. Who’s the victim? Surely it’s the children, they are the one who’ll suffer after the
separation of their parents. They would get affected after what would possibly happen.
Marriage is not a mere scrap of paper that one could discard so easily at a whim.
Irreconcilable differences? Incompatibility? Then why the two couple get married in the
first place? If divorce is legal in the Philippines, and made quick and affordable, too- then
couples having problems can simply get a divorce because it’s the easiest option. It is really a
lesson to take if one will get married at a time. You have to choose the right one before you’ll
decide to get married, because marriage is not a joke. For us as Christians, it is a sacred that
should be respected and obey because you are promising not only to your partner but to our
GOD as well. Being abused by your partner? Well, it depends on the situation. If the two of you
works to have a healthy relationship then there would no abused happens. Living in a healthy
relationship makes a family became much stronger. As what I’ve said, choosing the right person
to be your partner for a lifetime is a MUST but if you just get married without any assurance to
your partner then that’s your biggest mistake. Before entering into marriage you have to put in
your mind the things that possibly soon to happen in your married life. Always put in your mind
that once you enter there’s no turning back since that’s not a simple game you play on, that
once you don’t like you can easily quit it. There’s a lot of choices you have to decide that
includes your family on it.
I don’t want to see children suffer having a broken families, I’m tired seeing children
cried looking for their parents. It is really difficult to the children because children is the
affected among all. Many child experienced depression because of it, many child tends to do
suicide because of it. Why married couple do wants to get divorce when for sure both of them
planned to get married before? Problem is just a problem, there’s a rainbow after a rain
therefore there’s a solution after you involve into a difficult situation. Instead of breaking up
choose to fix and try to solve. Pray to HIM and that’s the only way to solve the problem,
definitely not the divorce one. That’s why I strongly disagree to legalized divorced here in our
country.
