Transportation: Due to the spread of Covid-19 massively , the government imposed

lockdown on mostly every sector. It caused to the closure of all educational

institutions, and all important field where people need to gather for the work. So
government imposed lockdown to reduce massive spread of the coronavirus. We
know the transport is one of the key requirement of tourism. Here, a larger part of
tourist is domestic used to travel through public transport for economic reason. Since
public transports were stopped by government imposed, the long distance travelling
were come down to a miserable stages. There could be plenty of reasons why tourist
arrival fall down during COVID-19 like health safety, economic instability, but
transport was one of the major.

Tourist were highly afraid of public transportation due to health safety and side by
side a large part of tourist faced economic instability. A survey run by some
researchers of the 200 people who used to travel by public transportation before
pandemic, 159 of them didn’t prefer public transportation after resuming public
transportation.

In their survey they asked about transportation mode and showed which transportation
mode people would prefer during COVID-19, 56.4% people chose bicycles whereas
only 1.7% people chose public transportation. During COVID-19 ride sharing
services could be a suitable alternative. But only 8.2% people chose ride sharing
services as a preferable mode of transportation during COVID-19.
The Financial Express reported that by global pandemic Bangladesh`s transport sector
suffered about 300 billion Tk for the consequence of mass lockdown. According to
BBS GDP From Transport in Bangladesh increased to 12871.80 BDT Million in 2021
from 12135.50 BDT Million in 2020.
