Marriott International Inc has opened the Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre with an investment of approximately 80 lakh

per key. Located near Bund Garden Road, Pune, close to the railway station and Jehangir hospital, the newly opened hotel has 179 rooms. It is owned by The Advantage Raheja and managed by Marriott International Inc under the brand 'Courtyard by Marriott'. Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre is the second Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Pune while seventh Courtyard by Marriott hotel in India. Craig S Smith, COO- Asia Pacific, Marriott International Inc said, Pune has lot of business potential and the market is growing faster each day. There has been increase in business with the corporate house and IT sector showing tremendous growth in the city. Corporate and IT and other business houses are setting up their offices in Pune. Consequently, the demand for room is rising in Pune and thus Marriott International Inc have come up with third property in Pune. The demand for room has increased in Pune due to its infrastructure development and business coming from corporate, IT sector and automobile sectors. We had reported a decent growth in our business from our two brands 'Courtyard by Marriott Hinjewadi' and 'Pune Marriott Hotel and Convention Centre'. With the third hotel opening up now in Pune, it shows that the city is growing and the growth will continue for hotel business. Another Courtyard by Marriott construction work is under process in Pune, informed Rajeev Menon, Area Vice President - India, Malaysia, Maldives and Australia, Marriott International Inc. Harinder J Singh, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre said, There is lot of movement happening in IT sector in Pune. The hotel is located at a prime location and is in the centre of the city. The hotel's USP is our room product with 32 square meter room area attach with 37 inch TV, internet connectivity and all the facility which a business traveller will like to have in a hotel room. The F&B segment is very young and refreshing with three outlets offering various cuisine. We plan to have corporate lunch menu and late night buffet for the guests as well. Our target sale distribution will be 70 per cent and 30 per cent for room and F&B respectively. The 179 room hotel includes 22 suite rooms designed for the business and leisure travellers, 18 executive rooms and 139 deluxe rooms. The hotel has three F&B outlet, MoMo Caf, which offers all-day dining options, while Red Zen is a Pan Asian specialty restaurant, and 'MoMo 2 Go' offers pastry, cake, salads and sandwiches.
