following product and made it subject of a joint patent
application. Both sides will commercialize the product under
the name CIRKIT OxyBar 1582 and LOCTITE LIOFOL BC
1582. The products are to be considered identical.

This coating can be applied directly to corona treated

BOPET, BOPP and MDOPE, as well as AIOx-coated PET
and BOPP. Coatings on BOPP film may require an adhesion
promoter, LOCTITE LIOFOL PR 1890 up to 2%. Coatings on
Nylon, metallized surfaces or other films may require a
primer, which can be applied in-line.
The recommended method of application for this coating is
with a direct gravure roll coater. A smoothing bar running in
the reverse direction is recommended for direct gravure. The
coating may also be applied by reverse gravure without a
smoothing bar.
The application station should be thoroughly cleaned and
rinsed with distilled water before introducing the coating
mixture to the application station. A peristaltic or diaphragm
pump can be used to supply the coating to the applicator.
Allowing the return flow to cascade into the sump may cause
foaming. The return flow should slide down an angled
surface into the sump or should not have a large drop back
into the sump.

Application Weight:
The recommended dry coating weight of the LOCTITE
LIOFOL BC 1582 is in the range of approximately 0.5 to 1.0
g/m², depending on the oxygen barrier level. In the most
flexible packaging applications a coating weight of 1 g/m²
provides the desired functionality.
Drying:
Optimum drying conditions are dependent on the specific
machine speed, coating weight, dwell time, and efficiency of
the dryer. A system with good air volume and exhaust is
more effective than extremely high temperature to remove
the solvents.
Cleaning:
Wet coating remnants and application equipment should be
cleaned with water. Exposure of the coating to solvent will
cause coagulation. However, dried material may be removed
with a water/detergent mixture or solvent.

STORAGE
When stored in a dry and cool place in the original unopened
container storage life is as follows.
