of words—their formation, spelling patterns, and sounds. Not your ordinary
fill-in-the-blanks exercises, these child-pleasing activities include

My grandparents live in Sacramento California. That is the capital of the
state of California. The largest city in this state is Los Angeles. The state has
more than 35000000 people.
California ranks as the third biggest state in area and the largest state in
population. It became our country’s 31st state on September 9 1850. California is
called the Golden State. A grizzly bear is on its state flag.
California has beaches mountains forests and a large desert area. Many
different crops are grown in this state. They include strawberries lemons walnuts
apricots and grapes.
Our first stop this summer vacation will be Reno Nevada. Then we are

driving to Sacramento to visit my grandparents. We are also going to go to San


Francisco. This California city has steep hills cable cars beautiful parks and a
