Introductory Message
A module is a type of learning resource that is essentially self-contained,
self- instructional package with learning paced by the student according to his or
her individual needs and ability (Ali, et.al,2010). It requires the learners to interact
actively with the instructional materials rather than simply allowing them to read
the materials passively (Dick and Carrey, 1990).

For the facilitator:

This module adheres to the learning competencies of the K-12 Curriculum.

This module helps the learners understand the proper etiquette and safety in
using the facilities and equipment in the dance. This module is a useful
learning material that provides the learning objectives, pretest, lesson proper,
enrichment activities, generalization, application, assessment and additional
activities.

For the learner:

This module is created to give meaningful learning of the Dance: Proper

Etiquette and Safety in the Use of Facilities and Equipment through clear and

What’s New

Hello Learner! Before

we proceed to your new
lessons, read and answer
the questions below.

ACTIVITY 1 Read Me!!!

Proper Etiquette and Safety in the Use of Facilities and Equipment

1. Take care in using facilities and equipment. In consideration of

the school’s effort and other students who will benefit from using
the facilities and equipment, it is in good form to handle them
with care and use them solely on their purpose. This is to prevent
having them misplaced, stolen, or become unnecessary clutters
in the training area that can cause accidents.
2. Only use equipment that you already know how to use. Do not leave or
pass on equipment that is in complete disarray or dirty.
3. Be alert and aware in the training area.
4. In performing exercises and movement in general, practice good form
first.
5. Bring back all equipment in place after use.
6. Do not hug the equipment.
7. Return the equipment properly or leave the venue clean. Doing
exercises in improper form deficit its benefits. Do not monopolize the
equipment. Allow everyone a fair use of facilities.
8. Check yourself – Practice proper hygiene and care. Take a bath or
deodorant if needed. Do not force yourself to engage in physical activity
if you are feeling sick.
9. Move on the double; do not loiter around the venue or hang on the
equipment doing nothing. Do not handle it until such time the teacher
gives instructions on how to operate the said equipment. You could
break the equipment or cause harm to yourself or others.
10.Be nice, it is the general rule!

Processing Questions:

1. Can we apply the proper etiquette and safety in the use of facilities and
equipment in dancing? Why or why not?
2. After reading, are you satisfied with all the cited statements? If not, what can
you add?
3. Is this applicable in the preparation for a dance show? Why?

Hello, Learner. In order to

execute the dance properly, the
following materials, equipment
and facilities should be
considered.

other public events are given.
Radio a device that can transmit radio signals.
Laptop a portable microcomputer having its main components (such as
processor, keyboard, and display screen) integrated into a single
unit capable of battery-powered operation.

object, or group on a stage.
Megaphone a cone-shaped device used to make your voice louder when you
speak through it.
Microphone a device into which people speak or sing in order to record their
voices or to make them sound louder.
Cell phone a small telephone that people can take with them and use outside
their homes.
Loudspeaker a device that is used to make sound (such as music or a person’s
voice) louder and to send it out so that many people can hear it
in public space.
Headphones a pair of speakers worn over or in the ears so only the were can
hear the sound.
Tablet a mobile computing device that has a flat, rectangular form like
that of a magazine that is usually controlled by means of a touch
screen, and that is typically used for accessing the internet,
watching videos, playing games, etc.
Television an electronic communication medium that allows the

6
transmission of real-time visual images, and often sound.
Compact a small optical disk usually containing recorded music or
Disc/CD computer data.
Projector An optical device that projects a beam of light, especially one
used to project an image or moving image onto screen.

Remember:

 You may need props and costume in performing the dance. It will always
depend on what genre of a dance you choose.
 The proper of equipment and facilities will always depend on how often you
use it. Take care of it as if it is your life because it is a mirror of your passion
in dance. Just review the readings in activity 1.

When you choose your genre in a dance, learn also the costume you need to
wear. Just like below.
