FOREWORD
Praise be to the mercy and gift of Allah SWT who has bestowed His blessings,
mercy, and blessings so that we can carry out and complete Prakerin at ATA
COMPUTER with a healthy state wal afiat. Because without His favor, maybe we
would not necessarily be able to complete this activity from beginning to end.

The preparation of this report is the result of the implementation of practice

which is a form of dual system education carried out together with SMK Negeri 2
Turen Malang with the Business World and the Industrial World.

The preparation of this report would not have been possible withoutthe help of all
parties, therefore, on this occasion the author would like to thank:

CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background
Fieldwork practice is one of the academic activities required from the
Computer and Network Engineering department of SMKN 2 TUREN for the
requirements to take the National Examination. This fieldwork practice is held to
direct students to be able to analyze the knowledge gained at school and at home
and apply it in the workforce. So that students can get used to the conditions of
the outside environment and adapt quickly to the routines of the world of work.
Fieldwork practice is also a place for students to understand the world
directly. There is a lot of experience that I have gained for approximately 6
months doing practical fieldwork activities at Ata Computer. Not only learning
about Computers and Networks but also being taught about manners,
perseverance in work, and being punctual. With the pre-employment, students
will get an experience about the world of work and industry.

1.2 Purpose
The objectives of fieldwork practices are;
a. Producing a quality workforce, namely a workforce that has a level of
knowledge, skills, work ethic that is in accordance with the employment
b. Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the process of quality
education and job training
c. Improving skills and quality in the world of work and industry
d. Preparing additional manpower to fill labor shortages in the world of work
and industry
e. Adding new experiences in the world of work
f. As one of the requirements for taking the National Examination at school

CHAPTER II LEARNING PROCESS AND OUTCOMES IN DU/DI

2.1 Understanding
Windows 7 is one of the operating systems made by the Microsoft windows
company which replaced the previous windows, namely Windows Vista, and
windows 7 itself was released to computer manufacturers on July 22, 2009 and
when it was released to the public on October 22, 2009. Which is Windows 7 it
was released less than 3 years after Windows vista.

2.2 History

Windowsis an important part of the majority of PCs around the world. Over the
years, the Windows operating system has become more than just the backbone on
a PC, Windows has become a key entity that helps its users to maximize their
respective potential.

Every time Microsoft releases the latest edition of Windows, it is certain

that this will arouse curiosity from the public about the features, completeness,
and novelties of the operating system. This is certainly a very natural
phenomenon, considering that the Windows operating system is part of the daily
lives of billions of people in the world. Each individual's experience is certainly
different in their own way.
Windows 7 currently it has entered the Beta stage, which means it is
certain that this latest operating system will soon be present.

Windows 7 is designed based on evolving trends and is designed to

remain responsive in a PC with minimal specifications, efficient in energy use,
and safe to use as The discussion about Windows 7 is certainly something very
interesting and until now, Microsoft developers in Redmond are still adding
features that are the input of users of previous editions of Windows, in order to
achieve maximum user satisfaction. 
On October 28, 2008, Microsoft demonstrated for the first time to the
public the PreBeta version of Windows 7 (build 6801) at the Professional
Developer Conference 2008 in Los Angeles, California.

2.3 Disadvantages and advantages of Windows 7

Excess:

1. Windows 7 is faster than Windows Vista

2. System Scurity is very strict, even for folder sharing.
3. Can support from hardware driver-diver.
4. Energy Saving
5. Optimization in prefetching (optimization of the data load process for HD and
SSD).
6. The existence of a device storage application (a new feature to make it easier
for us to display all things related to certain peripherals, such as configuration
features and documentation).
7. Can choose wireless / WIFI network with just 1 click from the system tray.
8. Supports multi touch technology.
9. More attractive appearance and applications compared to previous versions of
Windows.
10. There are some hardware or perpherals that can be directly detected in
Windows 7

Deficiency:

1. There are some hardware that is immediately recognized in Windows Vista,

but not necessarily recognizable in Windows 7
2. Many Apps or software that can run on previous versions of Windows but
cannot run on Windows 7
3. A very slow process compared to Windows XP

2.5 How to Install Windows 7

1. Enter Bios by pressing the F2 key or others on each different computer then
setting Bios to boot via CD ROM on the boot device priority.

2. Insert the Windows 7 CD / DVD and wait until it appears "press any key to
boot from cd or dvd" then press any key.

3. Then the starting windows display will appear.

4. Wait a minute then the language / language option will appear., Please select
Indonesian in the Time and currency format. For language To install Keyboard
or input method leave the default. Then click select Next.

6. Setup is starting, Windows 7 installation starts.

7. Wait a minute, the license terms display will appear centang I Accept..klik
next.

8. Select Custom (advanced) to set the partition to install windows 7.

9. Then divide the partition into 2, namely drive c to install windows 7 and drive
d the rest, if previously it was in the partition and want to reinstall it, you can
immediately install click next on drive c

22. Done, Windows 7 is installed and it remains only to install drivers and other
applications.

23. Continue Installing Driverpack

1. After the Driverpack Solution 12.3 DVD is inserted> autorun appears and

click Run DriverPack Solution.exe and Driverpack Solution 12.3 will

Load for a while to try to display information about the hardware

specifications of the software and the installation conditions of the driver

of our computer / Laptop device.

2. ClickMenu-Tab Driver=>click "Install and Update". Then it will be

filled with the Confirm Installation screen, Click "Install Driver" =>

click "Start Installation".

3. Automatically Driverpack Solution 12.3 will install drivers to the

Operating System which is taken from its Data base in the Folder
(dev_dbdandrp). Wait a few minutes until the installation process is
complete.

4. If after this process there is no message / warning whatsoever and the

system asks for a Restart and when entering the Windows GUI Desktop

(also in the Device Manager there is no exclamation mark), it means

that the driver installation process is COMPLETE!…

**For Windows XP only, install the HD version of the Sound driver,

should run 2x Driverpack Solution 12.3 .. because of the first process of

upgrading the HD driver, trusygkeduabaruInstall the original driver...

Conclusion
Prakerind is a strategy that gives participants the opportunity to experience the
learning process through working directly on the job. After doing this pre-
employment activity, we gained a lot of experience and knowledge from this
activity.

If the school is taught various theories, at the time of pre-employment the theory
will be used as a basis in carrying out a practical activity. In essence, pre-
employment activities are very useful for developing what is taught in schools and
homes. Hopefully, this Prakerind activity can improve our ability and quality in
the world of work and industry.

Suggestion
In this pre-employment exercise I take my experience, wisdom and benefits for
myself. I am fully aware that this report is far from perfect, therefore I expect
constructive criticism and suggestions for the improvement of the report. Hope
this report is useful for everyone.
