BIPOLAR JUNCTION TRANSISTOR

 What is BJT transistor

The BJT (bipolar junction transistor) is a current-controlled electronic device
main employed for amplification and switching purpose. It comes with three
terminals called emitter, base, and collector. The small current at the base side
is used to control the large current at the remaining terminals .
A bipolar junction transistor (BJT) is a type of transistor that uses both electrons
and electron holes as charge carriers. In contrast, a unipolar transistor, such as a
field-effect transistor, uses only one kind of charge carrier.

 Types

1. NPN TRANSISTOR
2. PNP TRANSISTOR

BJTs are of two types namely NPN and PNP based on doping types of the three
main terminals. An NPN transistor consists of two semiconductor junctions that
have a thin p-doped anode region and PNP transistor also consists of two
semiconductor junctions that have a thin n- doped cathode region. 1
A bipolar transistor (bipolar junction transistor: BJT) consists of three semiconductor
regions forming two junctions. There are two types of structure: Npn And Pnp. Products
with NPN UP TO 800 V AND PNP UP TO -600 V are available. In addition, there are also
bias resistor built-in transistors (BRTs).
